Jim brought in very athletic and talented players that won basketball games. The last couple of years, however, those guys were being suspended, transferring (Danny Granger), or dealing with injuries. The media hated him for some reason, and after the sweet 16, the number of wins went in the wrong direction.

Jim was okay but, outside of 2006, never really accomplished that much. He was certainly as good or better than those who followed. However, I have no problem with the Bradley fans wanting/demanding more. We want the other schools fans/administrators to demand excellence and take the steps necessary to achieve that.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

I found this on the UNI board....thought it was pretty funny. The poster is a regular....dedicated and fair.

The only way this team matches up with WSU is if the NCAA magically grants Tuttle a 5th year, a couple Kentucky All-American defectors walk-on, Baker tears his ACL, and Washpun hits a 5 inch growth spurt.

Pretty funny stuff, some truth to it, will still be a tough road win up there.

They will be tough, but to a man (starting with the head coach and working all the way down the roster) we are better than them. Washpun and Morgan are boarder line second team All-MVC. VanVleet and Baker are All-Americans. Bohannon shoots. Wessel gets balls. Jesperson is a heady stretch 4. Grady was first team All-Horizon. They have Lohaus off the bench. We have Frankamp...and Shamet and Brown. Our bigs will brutalize theirs.

Here's another good one from the Panther board:

All of these scenarios can be blown up if Ron Baker lands awkwardly on someone else's foot in December.

              Poster B
Not really. They are pretty loaded. Hard to actually imagine a scenario where they don't win the title with ease.

uni will be really good this year. not as good as last year (30-4) but still really good (24-7?). much like when wsu lost 5 seniors from a top-25 team but went to the final four the next year. they are loaded. washpun, morgan, jesperson, lohaus etc.- they're better than your average, say, big 12 team.

I do think uni will be decent too. They will have a tough time against teams with a strong group of big men, but they will be scrappy for sure. I think they will still be at least an NIT team. As long as they have Ben Jacobsen, they will be fine.

The only problem with this post is that they get really thin at etc. They HAVE to have one of the bigs step up. Koch, Carlson, and Friedman are all sophomores, and while they have a bit of size, they are no where near as talented as Kelly, Morris, and Nurger. McDonnel is a skilled 6-9 freshman forward they brought in and Dahl is a 7 foot freshman that could be something by his third or fourth year, but again, Hamilton should be better. The front court is just such a question mark in Cedar Falls.

Don't get me wrong, Ron Baker will be vital to our team's success.

In the NCAA tournament. As far as the Valley goes, it's ours to lose. And I don't think it will be within 3 or fewer games.

Yes, it's exciting to think about how good this team might just be.

Poster A must be some sort of high-end genius. Plans get changed if a star player gets injured in the season? Really? You don't say? I suppose you could say that about ANY player at ANY school at ANY time.

I'm glad Poster A's only hope is for a WSU injury so the rest of their ankle-biting teams can play catch up. Typical Missouri Valley fanspeak right there.

I wish I had half the intellect that Poster A possesses.

24-7? Um have you looked at UNI's schedule? Unless you think UNI is going 16-2 in the Valley or winning a whole bunch of road games (something they've struggled with immensely outside of last year), that ain't happening.

21-10 is their absolute ceiling. And we'll be hearing about NCAA at-large possibilities from the UNI faithful through early March.

Per KenPom, one of the top comparisons that Zach Brown's 14-15 season drew was Baker's 12-13 season. Departing from the quantitative, that's scary given the greater athletic ability and length that Brown possesses (and he has the chance to be an even better shooter from 3 point range). So yeah, whoever "Poster A" is, they have no idea what they are talking about.

Shoot, we have other players whose ceiling may be higher than Brown's. That's not good for the rest of the league.

washpun, morgan, jesperson etc are plenty enough (with the side pieces). better than your average big-12 team. uni > oklahoma, for example. i'd have uni above evansville and maybe illinois state too.
