Mrs Marshall and their daughter (sorry I can't remember her name) and one of their son's friends (or maybe another relative since kellen didn't go home with the friend/relative) were all there. She was sitting right behind me and we were having some good laughs about the callers, HCGM's reactions to some of the questions, and we even sometimes answered the question how we thought they should be answered. Now if you had heard some of our comments that would have been no class...

I will take honesty over 'Political correctness' anyday. Coach has been just fine in his comments, IMO.

      And their daughter is 'Maggie'.

On the show he referred to giving Ryan Bradley the pink slip and A. Butler flunking out....This maybe could have been sugar coated a bit....But I want to throw in the obligatory "I love the coach"....and seriously am looking forward to a great recruitng class and a great coach

Hi said that MT had given given RB the "pink slip" and that after working RB out, it was decided that he would be better off somewhere else. He also mentioned that they spent a good part of the summer getting AB eligible , (off the scrap heap, he may have said), and that apparently AB pissed down his leg and flunked out by Christmas break.

That is correct MT told RB to leave and in HCGM's words they agreed with MT's decision as it was better for RB and WSU.

To briefly go a different direction on a similar path........

Adam Liberty will be attending his 3rd straight NCAA tournament with ORU (2 as a player).

Well WuDr I believe I saw you at Applebees how would you have described HCGM on Monday? And on days that you have spoken with him since?

I thought Gregg was in a great mood and was at his media "playful" best. Even better, as far as I am concerned, was that Lynn seemed to be as happy as ever (this somewhat implies that she at times has not been happy and as far as I know that has not been the case).

I say that to only quiet other's concerns about the Marshall's enjoyment of Wichita. If you don't them they are the salt of the earth. Whether or not he coaches WSU basketball, Gregg and his family are "good people" and a big asset to any community.

I am of the opinion that there is a bit of a 400lb gorilla that has vacated his backside and he is thrilled to be out recruiting and is already re-energized for the next season.

Correction... that gorilla was at least 800 lbs. :D
                      SFL is back!

Well, I might be misunderstanding, but Wichita State has held pre-game pep rallies at Union Station for years, going back to the mid '90s, if I remember correctly.

PS. This was the first time I've missed the Valley Tournament in the last nine years. I can't wait to get back next year.
Yes, pep rallies have been held for years at Union Station.

I was referencing the location of the rally, which was inside a standard retail store lease space. In the past, the rallies at Union Station have been held in an open space area on the mezzanine floor.

On one occasion, the rally was held in the Sheraton in a meeting room.

If I was the coach and had gone to great lengths to get a kid eligible, only to have him flunk out again, I'd be upset too. He could have used that scholarship on someone else for the year. Or given it to a walk-on that played more than some of the scholarship players.

I promise you the staff was irritated with Arbry. In fairness, I do not believe Arbry was in any way shape or form prepared for college. He had a lot of work to do.........A LOT.

That being said, he was given every opportunity and every advantage to get his classwork done and he failed to do it.

Our staff was more than excited about his physical skill set. It's just too bad they couldn't get it to work out.

That's why I thought things got a little overboard with the "attaboy" thread last summer when AB got requalified.

No. He should recieve congrats for getting himself eligble. "Attaboys" at that time were ok.

However with this new found information about him flunking out again, deseves a strong long winded cussing out. And not so much for flunking hell kids flunk out all the time. Its horrible and there is no excuse for it but it does happenl. THe thing that irritates me is th4e fact the the new staff took the chance with him after the former staff threw him out. Its one thing to not give a damn. But when you have people sticking their neck out for you is unnacceptable..
