So a suspension has been reported, and not just speculated?

I went back over there and answered my own question. He has been suspended.

I did find this opinion of Teddy's game in that topic interesting, and of which I mostly agree:

As far as athleticism - I really don't think Hawkins is any more athletic then most guys on the team. Nor was Reggie. I think people get caught up in how someone looks. That said, Teddy's game is a lot closer to Ethan Wragge's than it is Anthony Slacks.
He's a guy who could be very good stretch four, but he carries his apparently lazy attitude onto the floor, preferring to float around the arc. Maybe that's what Muller wants him to do, but it seems like a waste, given his size. Maybe he's much more Derail Green than Cleanthony Early. (not factoring in actual talent)

I thought P'unk was one of Altman's guys. As for academics, though, Blue U. did produce Kevin Ross, so even though that was a long time ago there's probably some institutional memory of how to keep a guy eligible academically.

Edit: One other thing about Creighton as an institution: some years ago I met a doctor from Omaha, prosperous, nationally renowned in his specialty, and as traditional and orthodox a Catholic as you'll ever find. He had five kids and could afford to have them go to school wherever he or they wanted. So what happened? All five went to... not their friendly local Jesuit university -- but all the way to Texas and to Baylor (!).

Something of note that I think is interesting, the last game that Teddy played in he fouled out.

              That's dum thinking.

More than anything, I think this points out a couple of things that are more pronounced in today's world, especially pertaining to top level athletics.

It's not enough to be physically talented. You better be smart, actually you better be really smart, or you should be extremely capable of adapting to new ideas and a variety of scenarios with which you aren't familiar.

Very much agreed. Often times, fans don't understand how intelligent/adaptive you must be to be a high level or professional athlete. The "dumb jock" narrative is a very inaccurate stereotype. You also must be emotionally stable.

Dang, the penalties for fouling out in Spain seem kind of harsh, don't you think?

Go directly home. Do not pass the bench and do not collect a cup of Gatorade. The question is, does he have a "Get Out of Home" card?

Muller suspended a player? Musta been a felony. Maybe that explains the rapid departure from Spain.

Here's another possibility. Isn't this about the time grades for summer school would be coming out?

Another item of note: Hawkins flight went from Barcelona to Dayton, not to Normal.

I thought the same thing about the felony idea. You don't get sent home from Spain for arguing with the coach.

Aren't you following along? That's the penalty for fouling out. Spain takes fouls VERY seriously!

You can also see that in the way Spanish (and other Euro and South American) soccer players react when they're fouled. I sometimes wonder how they'll ever walk again, much less play, after seeing their pained theatrics.

Seriously, good luck to Teddy, but it's starting to sound like the only way WSU (or maybe anyone else in D-1) will encounter him again is if he happens to play for one of the lower-level teams the Shocks get for their preseason exhibition.
