That Illinois State thread is just sad to read. How delusional are those people? Arguing that Wichita State doesn't "own" Illinois State, that they have 2 wins when it "matters." They have 2 wins in 5 years!

    Holy. Hell. Woooooooooooooooow.

Wichita State is 11-2 in the last 5 years against Illinois State and 17-6 over the last 10 years. Gregg Marshall has lost one time to Muller, and that record between the two is 7-1 if I'm not mistaken on my math.

So, yeah. Illinois State fans are on the verge of becoming the most delusional fans in the MVC.

They have to talk about something, and they certainly don't want it to be yesterday's loss to something called a Madrid All-Stars.

Redbird Recon is the only one that seems to be grounded in reality. ISU isn't a bad team at all. They have potential, but when you are saying the game that "matters" is a semi-final MVC tournament game that DOESN'T result in an NCAA bid, just devalues your program. It just means you made a semi-final MVC Tournament game your "super bowl"

They also turned around and had one of the most legendary collapses of all time in St. Louis. Go into half up 14, lead by 18 at one point, and then lose by 9.

Personally, I've had them at the top of the list in my book in terms of most delusional for some time now.

Well, they were obviously a St. Louis Cinderella.

It's only a couple of their fans, but to say the only game that matters is the last one, when all it did was get them an NIT invite while we went to the Sweet 16 is hilarious. That's the resulting ignorance from not being able to take off your team-colored glasses for one second, or having a hateful obsession with an adversary.

Little known fact: More games seem like they matter when you aren't out of a conference race in the 2nd week of January.

Assuming dinner with the Allens occurred at 8:00pm, had they met at the exact same instant of time but in the location of Denmark, Greenland, or Cape Verde; it would have been perfectly legit. Aren't we talking four hours here?

Now @Cdizzle is gonna skate in and say that that then begs the question: "Why didn't they just wait?" And the answer is easy, because four hours later Chris Jans (while not a staff member, is still a major cog in Marshall's complex machinery of success) would be busy "serving community time" -- saving chicks from slipping on peanut shells -- at the local bars. So he wouldn't be available to drive a slightly inebriated [assistant?] coach safely home later in the evening -- and we DO want to make sure all participants (and chicks) are safe don't we?

So why not in the morning? Because Marshall had to be on a plane at zero dark hundred, and needed to brush up on his Australianese.

So you see, it really comes down to erroring on the side of caution (safe driving and saving chicks from slipping on peanut shells).

If the NCAA wants to hit us on the head for being abundantly cautious -- well, okay. It was technically a violation, I understand. I'll take it like a man. But that coach got home and no chicks in east side bars were injured that night.

For some reason, some people question me whenever I bring up the Redturd fanbase and their loser program.

Well, the Redturd message board has come through!

But seriously, how laughable is it to see them celebrating Valley tournament victories over WSU? And some of them are in such denial of the ownage that they think of every creative way in their cute little furry heads to zap logic and reason out of their heads to justify their rationale that Illinois State is on par with Wichita State. Classic. And the only reason Marshall/WSU is above them is because we cheat. Simple as that.

If that right there isn't the definition a loser mentality, then I dunno what is.

Once again Redturds. Party like it's 1998.

                    ... No really, deuces.

They don't have a lot to hang their hat on. I don't mind if they spend the entire off season relishing that victory. Just pat them on the head and move along.

I would give them credit for those two recent wins in St. Louis...IF they had parlayed that into NCAA berths (especially if it took away our NCAA berth) and also IF those weren't the only two wins they have had against us. Considering that neither of those are the case, they don't have much of a leg on which to stand when they say they "win when it matters."

They haven't won a regular season game against us since December 2009. Just sayin'...

                            Turns out.....don't disgrace Wu.

The last time they won in Wichita was in 2007-2008. Against a team that won 4 conference games. In a game WSU played without 2 starters. And they scored 49 points. Someone on that team(a program that has only ever had the best and classiest individuals in the history of the NCAA) thought it was a big enough win to justify belly-sliding across the logo on another team's home court.

Real quote: "Those are season-making games from a coach's way of thinking," said Jankovich.

                            Yeah.....

                            maybe don't do that again.

I remember that moment like it was yesterday. That little celebratory moment didn't go over well with our staff and it should be evident by now that they have an excellent memory.
