Sexton's in charge at Louisville, too? And very sly, Fever -- pretending to be SB so you could get in your shot at ADES.

If anybody thinks Marshall would lose 2 recruiting days on purpose - please pass that bong to me when you're done - that must be some good stuff.

Somebody made a mistake. It was an avoidable mistake, but pretty much everybody not named "God" makes avoidable mistakes.

Redturd fans, of course, are running away with this.

What a loser fanbase with a loser program.

Continue to party like it's 1998, losers.

Meh, pretty mild stuff over there. Even a couple pointing out its not THAT big of a deal. I expected worse.

If that's the case then we should be doing the same damn thing.
No doubt on purpose. That rule looks very straight forward. In the end, probably a good move for WSU.
So, WSU could pay for flight and room on Friday but couldn't feed/meet them til the next morning. Marshall had them there for the weekend and could have taken them to breakfast the next morning. More like a 12 hour jump. Seems hardly worth the effort.

If intentional, a little sleazy but unlikely that it made the difference in where the kid went.

By the way, they have a complicance officer at every NCAA school to help guide the coaches, athletes, and fan base on what is allowed and what isn't. Small violations happen with somewhat regularity.

I had not pointed blame at anyone in particular.

But your argument is that this isn't a big deal because we have someone whose entire job is literally to know about and follow these rules? Which makes my answer to your "what does this guy do?" question a big, "I'm not sure, but apparently not his job."

A friend of mine who was previously a coach in another NCAA D-1 sport at another school told me that if you don't self-report minor violations, the NCAA thinks you're up to something. So that's why you see things such as this.

Also, every decently successful NCAA program (especially football and basketball) breaks the rules in some form or fashion. Just depends on to what degree. If you don't think so, you're kidding yourself.

The reason for that is that if the university does not appear to be self-governing (or does a poor job doing it), the perception is that they have governance issues. I'm glad our compliance department caught and self-reported this.

Cue MoValleyJohn to tee up his usual response to me regarding governance and frameworks......4..3...2...1

I don't think ANYTHING Cal does today affects GM. Tomorrow is another day (or another recruit). You don't want someone to commit to your team who is not 100% on board and who will secretly dream of "what if" regarding another program. If a recruit wants to go to KU or UK or some other P5 school, they either (1) don't have the work ethics we require (or are just too lazy to do the work), (2) think they are better than they are, or (3) have stars in their eyes when they look at the name on the front of the jersey. In any of the three cases, we don't want them and are far, far better off without them. All we can do is wish them luck (no sour grapes) and hope their choice doesn't bite them in the arse later.
