  • The Flaming Burning Stinking & Predictable Disaster that is USA Basketball

This sucks. These guys aren't even a team. Bobby Brown is an embarrassment. I'm glad FVV stayed home. Few probably would have kept him on the bench.

Was it just conceded that a team thrown together over a few weeks couldn't run a structured offense or scout their opponents?

It looks like the USA just tries to win with length and athleticism. As someone in the game thread said, this looks like bad D-league.

This makes sense until you remember that Bombs Away Brown doesn't have length...or athleticism...or defense..or rebounding ability...but he scores 31 per game in China, so he must be good.

I'm afraid that Canada is going to put on a clinic.

Who would've thought a Canadian basketball team would be schooling a USA basketball team? Well, the answer starts with Mark Few and ends with Bobby Brown. You can throw in a Melo Trimble in the middle for good measure.

Watching this team may be worse than getting a prostate exam from Edward Scissorhands.

The Dominican Republic managed to hold Brazil to 68 points, were tied at the end of the 3rd quarter, and lost by 6.

Mark few coaching against Canada seems like a conflict of interest

If they hadn't pulled baker in the first 1/4 Banite would not have got hot and started stroking the 3s I don't recall a basket when Ron was guarding him from the start then they pulled him and he started getting easy 3 looks and got his stroke from there on ,he was hot and in stoppable I don't think Ron would have let him score 15 points less than he did which we would have been in the game never mind if Ron got his stroke on. Few was blind.

The beat goes on… Canada looks like a team. We look like poop. Bobby Brown doesn't pass. Melo Trimble stinks.

I thought the same thing. He got loose against the non-Baker D and got his rhythm.

Wanted to be on the record in this thread to say that I had been reading all the comments about this team but had not seen the 1st 2 games. Then I saw the game last night and not only is everybody here absolutely correct (except for that boozed-up douche from Omaha), but it's even worse than described in many cases.
This is truly an embarassment as a nation. First we drop our drawers and get driven like an old Datsun by Iran, now this disgraceful display of the game we invented. I'm sorry to say that right now I'm ashamed of my country.

I have nothing else to add that you fellas haven't already expressed except to say that Bobby Brown is a no-pass ball-hog chucker s-o-b that has no business being on Team USA.

As long as Bobby Brown stays on the bench the US can keep this close.

Watching baker away from the ball and court makes me proud. He's always the first (sometimes only) to jump up and cheer for good plays from his teammates. He's constantly hustling on the floor. He's the first to run and help up a teammate that's been knocked down.
