Grady averaged 1.7 assists per game the last 2 years at Cleveland State. By comparison, Carter was at .5 and Hall was at .7, so it appears Grady has some ability to pass out of the post.

Might take him some time to learn where to look for the open man, but doubling him will leave a dangerous shooter unguarded.

Grady's stats are awesome. I get the feeling we just won't have a clue what we've really stumbled into until we get to witness it first hand.

I get the feeling that HCGM doesn't stumble into it. :playful:

I think Grady takes our team to a higher level that "pick your poison" is all five positions.

            Edit: and the poisonous bench

I think Grady will be better at WSU than he was at CSU. At CSU, Grady was "the guy". At WSU, defenses will probably be game-planning to stop the AA's. Morris and Wessel aren't AA's, but it's probably not a good idea to pull a defender off of either of those guys.

Then there's Nurger and Wamukota. Give those guys some minutes to wear down the opponent's post player(s), keep Grady fresh, then let a fresh Grady finish up the game against a worn-down post player.

This is a great year to have an outstanding Fr class. We don't need them this year, they get to learn from experienced players, and they can see a chance to be a starter next year. Want to be an AA or an NBA pick? Maybe play for Team USA? Here's how it's done. Gonna be some motivated Fr.

Feel the same way about Fred, can't believe this is his senior year. But I remember reading about Taylor when it looked like we were pursuing him, it was either during or after our FF run. I remember the commentators pointing out most teams are challenged by a southpaw PG and Malcolm Armstead was really posing a dilemma for the opposing teams during that run in the post season. And I remember thinking that it would be awesome to have another southpaw PG on the team, especially one that has studied under the great FVV, even if for only a year.

I find it hard to believe that WSU will ever see another PG like Fred but I'm hopeful Taylor will carve out his own little niche of basketball lore on his own lefty accord.

Not sure if this is right thread, but I'm sure people will find it as it relates to next years team and how things look this summer. Last week when I asked Ron and Fred separately, when I had the chance to talk to both of them, how the team was looking this summer, the first words each of them spoke was in regard to Anton Grady and how is leadership and ability were going to be a tremendous help this season. I'm pretty sure that I value Fred and Ron's opinion as much as anybody on who is going to help next season, 3G may be a close third:encouragement:. They also had positive comments about Zach Brown and Conner's development. Ron especially seemed to light up when talking about Conner and made reference to the fact that Conner will make his life a lot better from a scouting perspective.

I had the chance to visit with Mr. Taylor for a few minutes recently and it will never cease to amaze me at the quality of young men HCGM is bringing to Wichita.

This young man is impressive. Polite, friendly, outgoing, SHARP....everything you'd want and hope to see in a student athlete. I hear he's a decent player too.

Good to hear this. I'm curious how often we will see Fred, Conner and Ron on the floor at the same time. It will be a small lineup, but talk about stretching a defense. Fred drives in and can kick left to Ron or right to Conner. Who lets who go.

Would a team even think about playing zone on us...at least for an extended period of time?

I'm quite willing to believe that Frankamp is a heck of a shooter, given his high school reputation, and the lauding by current players and coaches.

That being said, Zach Brown has shown more of an ability to score and shoot efficiently at the D1 level than Frankamp has at this point. And he comes with some serious upside on defense. I do not mean this as a slight to Frankamp, more that I am extremely excited about both Brown's realized and unrealized potential.

I do agree that we will be a more dangerous shooting team this year, which is scary in a good way. Tekele Cotton is my all-time favorite Shocker, but he never did pull out of his shooting slump last year. Adding another above-average shooter in either Brown or Frankamp completely changes how teams have to think about guarding Ron.

What is "at this point"? You mean as of today, including pick-up scrimmages and practices, or do you mean based on last year ans CF's KU performance?

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."
