No joke here (although a little humorous) but yesterday I saw a nice Denverite (young man probably around 20-25 years old) who didn't have a job, being interviewed. First he was asked what he did and he said that he lit up a bowl every morning first thing to start his day. Then he was asked what he would do if he was offered a $50,000 a year job, and he answered that he just couldn't sit in an office every day. Sorry for being off the subject.

Yeah, that's definitely it. That's the reason. Society in CO will burn to the ground. Damn hemp tokers!

There is no doubt that 3G has brought us National recognition throughout the BB world through our recent outstanding success over the last several years. And there is no doubt this success will continue as long as Marshall remains.

But, we are still a long way from reaching the status of a Kentucky, Duke, and even though I hate to admit it, KU, with multiple National Championships.

To reach the 'Elite' status, we need a combination of repeat Sweet 16's, Elite 8's, Final Fours, and two or more National Championships.

Now let us just win that first NC and get the show on the road.

Haha.. To be fair, though, I'd bet if you took the legal pot away, he'd just have some other excuse to be lazy.

I don't think of Colorado as a basketball hotbed. Their occasional top-level player goes out of state. The University of Colorado's history in the NCAA compares more favorably to Alabama's.

Winter sports are snowboarding and Skiing, not basketball.

Many reasons for Coloradans to be clueless as regards to college BB.

U of Denver has a hell of a hockey and lacrosse team, national powerhouse level.

Thanks to Boeing, a lot of WSU alumni are heading down to OKC. As I meet more of my fellow coworkers there, they ask me where I'm from or see my WSU polo and they say "Man, EVERYONE is from WSU..." I'll also get the occasional "Hey! Shockers!" as I walk around my apartment complex wearing a WSU T-shirt. I almost feel right at home!

Good point. I'm sure the gathering crowds of Shocker fans in OKC and Seattle are helping to expand the national brand as well.

hmm.. lets see.. 'shockers took louisville to the wire in the final four (classic game), kentucky toe-to-toe (one of the greatest ncaa games ever, literally, nfl playoff game vibe) and drubbed ku (11 straight big 12 titles) in a laugher, in order. and you don't think the shockers are right there with them? as of today?

I live in a norther suburb of Atlanta about 90 minutes from Chattanooga. I was in a Starbucks in March wearing my Final 4 shirt and and guy wearing an Indiana Final 3 shirt stopped by my table and said "Your shirt is newer than mine.

A lot of people are aware of WSU in part because there have been 3 area kids on WSU BB team6, Cotton, Hamilton, and Glass.

as a matter of fact, last i saw, the shockers crushed ku in a laugher. so, yeah, they are right there with ku right now. kind of above them, i'd say, actually, over the last three years. it's not that hard to see, is it, shockernet brothers? hcgm twisted up bill self and left him red faced. remember? looked red faced just like the guy in that video.

hey, and hopefully, we can get a rematch with notre dame next december. i wonder how that would turn out. hmm.. jackson and that other punk are still there, so we'll see. notre dame, RIGHT NOW, is also there with louisville, kentucky and ku etc btw.

it's like some people here don't recognize what marshall has done/is doing for this city. damn, maybe marshall should leave after next year.

They literally only follow and care about the donkeys and nothing else. No one ever recognizes WSU gear. I've had someone ask me if it was Wyoming State or occasionally the typical are they D1? I don't think that's a reflection upon WSU but rather this weird "sports" fan base out here. Heck folks in Beantown were much more likely to acknowledge me when I was wearing Shocker gear than in Colorado. Any other Colorado residents on this board experience this?
I used to live in Denver for about 10 years until 3 years ago. Most people there are Broncos fans, bandwagon at that. If you think Denverites are weird, check CO Springs - my goodness.

Live in Dallas now, get the occasional car horn from peeps that drive by & see Wu on my back window. I also have a really sick Shox bucket hat that I wear everyday now that it's so freaking hot here that I get a lot of compliments on. A lot of peeps here are hopping on SMU & that's cool, I like that they're doing good - people are more friendly when their teams are winning for some reason.
