Totally agree, I couldn't believe when I read this:

“They are obviously taking the side of Bardo,” he said. “People on campus are concerned about safety. It’s a big deal, and I just don’t think they get it."

The SGA president refers to the University President as "Bardo"? Are you kidding? Anything he said after that was tainted by my impression of him as a disrespectful *****. That incident was never about campus safety which is why it wasn't brought up at the time. Off campus, investigated by police and not a rape, not an issue. Insert beating a dead horse gif here.

If these SGA clowns really don't think they have egg on their face by continuing to ring the bell after being publically owned by a university president, and now by the freaking KBoR, then they will have a terrifically difficult time in the real world.

When I was at WSU (not exactly a generation ago) the SGA president was a fellow BSB student, who used reason and logic over emotion in decision-making, and now helps to run a rather sizable family business. He would have never carried himself in this manner. He is probably removing "WSU SGA President 20__ - 20__" from his LinkedIn profile as we speak, in order to remove a potential connection with these current TFM's.

EDIT: Oh... and Wade Robinson... don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. Maybe in your new-found freedom you can go back to school and major in something that requires an IQ score of greater than 65 in order to attain its terminal degree.
Brutal assessment; but I have to admit I agree with you.

Bit of advice for Conklin - quit whining and grow up. In a few months/years you will be pursuing the career for which you have educated yourself, if you continue to exhibit the maturity and intelligence you have demonstrated in this episode in all likelihood you will not achieve the level of success you desire.

"Shepard has also said there is a perception on campus that athletes receive preferential treatment."

Love how he states this as a matter of fact.

I had exactly the same thought -- disrespectful little snot.

I was under the perception that most scholarship winners athletic and scholastic got preferential treatment.

I remember getting a parking ticket once. I went into the campus police station and said, "Don't you know who I am? I'm here on a $1000 Obscure Academic Scholarship." They tore up my ticket on the spot.

Right? Isn't that kindof what the scholarship is? The university literally preferred you to other prospective students. So much so, that they gave you a giant wad of cash.

I was on a full ride via music and academic scholarships. I dined at the president's house.

You just weren't obscure enough. But that's ok. You're now the great Kung Wu! That might not have happened if you'd have have spent any time in the Obscure Studies program. The entire department was in one room, right between the Women's Studies and African-American Studies programs in the sub-basement of Neff Hall. I bet you didn't even know Neff had a sub-basement. That's how obscure it was.

Well, I did decide to check into Obscure Studies once, but I just couldn't find it in the course catalog. Rumor has it that the department head was so proficient in his field that he changed his name to a bunch of underscores. Dr. ____, I believe his name was. Or maybe it was Dr. _____, I can't quite remember.

I couldn't remember either. I kept calling him the wrong one, so he kicked me out after just one year in the program.

Back in the day (early 90's), the only preferential treatment I received for a full academic scholarship was that I could go to a much shorter line for class registration & fee payment. I don't know how they do it today since the kids today have no understanding of the phrase "pulling cards" or even having to walk up to computer terminal for class registration after the cards went the way of the dodo.

Obscure Studies used a camera obscura, right? Of course, camera obscura means "dark chamber" in Latin, so that sounds about right for Obscure Studies. Did you study dark matter? The dark side of the force?
