I'd probably say 62, but 60's a nice round number. And based on Marshall's comments, I don't get the feeling he wants to coach past 60.

He may think that now, but quite a few coaches find they just love it too much to quit, in some ways the adrenalin rush you get from competition is as addictive as any drug.

I guess we'll know in 10 years or so.

I would think, that the exact year he retires in the distant future just might be determined by:

a. How his last season's team performed (Naturally assuming we made the NCAA tournament, but where did we place?).

b. The overall caliber of his returning players.

c. The talent of his incoming class.

That's such a sweet thought but a bit unrealistic. It's a business. Do you honestly believe that if Marshall's dream job (whatever that may be) had come up this past season he would not have left because he didn't have anyone he felt he could trust with this program? I repeat -- sweet thought but not very realistic. I love Marshall and would want him to coach here until he is ready to retire but if he should leave before that time I really don't think the decision to leave o stay will hinge on whether he has someone in place to take over here.

No one is redefining anything. Just because the calendar says you are 60 doesn't mean you are old and can't do anything. And I have no problem with being in the "category" as you put it -- just don't define it as old age. And once again I reiterate -- wait until you get there and then see how you feel about it.
