Always have liked Randy, we both started at Wichita State at the same time. I will always remember him walking into college algebra singing every Tuesday and Thursday, same song everyday.

My first jersey was a #5. Randy was a great young man for the shocks.

I remember that he had an interest in producing records (music). How did that work out for him?

I have a Randy story, but I cannot tell it without his permission.

At the time of my story, I sat on the southwest corner in row 3. There wasn't a row 1 and 2 on the corner at that time. I could almost reach out and touch Randy.

One of his strengths was the free throw line. When the game was on the line late, Randy was the player that everyone wanted to take the free throw shots.

I loved Randy. He was not afraid to play hard.

From his website, "The Artist is set to release the hoops EP: State of Shock Summer 2015 under Houston’s Cool Music Record Label."

Use this link and scroll down to play the NETS tune. Randy wrote it. I expect he produced it and may have been the rapper.

Just seems really strange that as good of a player as he was and the nice teams he played on, he never was in The Dance.

Goes to show you how freaking special our last five years have been.

You got that right. I was researching something about Randy and I saw the names of some of his team mates. Since Coach Turgeon, there has been a serious upgrade in talent.

Do we get where we are today without what Randy and his teammates did for the program? I don't think so.

We're quite a ways above where the program was when Randy got here, but his group was the group that laid the foundation for what was to come.

I don't follow all the all-time records real well, but didn't it take an AA to break Randy's record for 3's?

Burns got little fanfare in HCMTs first recruiting class. That class was fairly loaded with:

                            Randy Burns
                            Dion Sherrell
                            Jamar Howard
                            Jamie Sowers
                            Rob Kampman
                            Paul Miller

Howard was a top 150. I'm pretty sure Sherrell and Kampman were top 300. Four of the six had excellent careers at WSU and the other two finished off okay after transferring.

Randy's freshman year was 01-02. He was in the second class, I believe.
