I expect this crap from Fever, but I would have expected the mods had the sense to draw the line at a certain point.
I'm glad that was enough to get the blabbermouth talking after a month-long hiatus.

    Obsession noted.

      I'm sorry JH4P, but I don't see a problem with this.

WSU still doesn't fit into KU's scheduling philosophy. I doubt that KU fits into WSU's scheduling philosophy.

KU vs. WSU is one of the least likely games in all of D1 BB to ever occur. If it should ever happen that KU and WSU are in the same exempt tourney, I will bet you thousands and thousands of dollars that KU would only accept if they were guaranteed to be in the opposite bracket from WSU.

Multiple and successive losses to WSU could force Self to take an NBA job. KU fans would not be able to stomach the sight of him on campus if he was unable to use WSU as his whipping boy.

Honestly I doubt they would ever partake in an exempt tournament with us in the field. They would simply find a different one.

So. let me see if I have the appearances figured out. It appears that Marshall has no need to ever schedule Self, but has no fear of ever facing him. OTOH, Self appears to have no need to ever schedule Marshall, but if the opportunity to face him ever arose, he would avoid it?

Isn't that appearance now pretty solid - after the NCAA showdopwn? Hasn't the NCAA hype about KU avoiding WSU been pretty well confirmed and now sounds like it was accurate reporting, rather than just fluff to promote viewership of the game?

I think that was pretty much confirmed by Jim Rome the day after the game, when he talked about KU scheduling WSU:

"Nothing to gain? *Pfft* Nothing to OFFER."

It was music to my ears to hear Rome absolutely shred Beaker Nation to pieces the next day on his show.

I see they got their game against Kentucky in afh that they've been wanting since Calapari has started spanking them as of late.. Calapari waltzes in and beats the stink out of them by 25.

Game loses it's 'luster' if Cal goes to New Orleans...

As much as I despise Kentucky, I would be torn on who to hate more if I watched this game. Can we just pull Perry out of AFH and then let the place implode? Perry can walk on at WSU for his graduate studies.

Actually, hate may be a little strong for the two teams. They're all new at UK, so it's hard to feel strongly enough about them to call it hate, and I kind of feel sorry for those kids that are returning to Lawrence (and the new guys). Now, the head coaches on the other hand, perhaps severely dislike is more accurate.

Edit 2: Also, and maybe someone has touched on this and I just haven't found it, but that situation up north seems a little odd to me. Perry is a PF. Their 2 big recruits are also PF's. I can see one of the three moving to the 5, but is one capable of playing the 3, or does one of their McDonalds All Americans come off the bench?

If they get embarrassed by Kentucky in afh, Self could be under some real fire. Their fans are acting like this is a revenge game that will make up for the last 2 Kentucky blowout wins.

I noticed that Buhler High is having a youth basketball clinic later this month with players representing each of the three D1 Kansas schools:

                            WSU - Baker and Wessel
                            KU - Seldon and Mason
                            KSU - Dean Wade

That should be an interesting dynamic and I wonder if these types of appearances are common throughout the state?

I'm surprised Ellis isn't one of the attending players, considering WSU and KSU are sending only Kansas kids.

Maybe KU is trying to prove that Selden isn't still missing.
