Ron needs another shooter on the team to take some of the heat off him. It can't be another 2-3 man show next year.

Yup, it sounds like Frankamp's shooting style mirrors Ron's. He has a quick trigger off a screen. Use one to pull a defender off the other.

Zach Brown says hello. He also says that small sample sizes can be deceiving, but that he is a boss, shooting 52% from the field and 42% from 3.

I like Zach Brown a lot, but everyone thought Evan was a shooter coming off his small sample size freshman year. Zach reminds me of a big Tekele Cotton - solid all the way around, potential to be an elite defender.

Evan is a shooter. Last year was a case of headcase yips. The other two years he is 42/110= 38.2%. AKA a guy I want shooting the ball.

Even if you include his super yips year, he still only drops to 33.3%, which isn't great, but also isn't the worst in the world. My guess is that his sophomore season was at least as much of a sample size outlier (3/25) as his freshman year (11/24). His actual shooting ability is probably closer to this year (31/86=36%)

I see Zach developing more into a Tekele/Cle Hybrid. With confidence, I see him being the one that can carve up defenses while still being able to step back and nail a 3. I just don't see him "creating" his own outside shot. He seems more of a set up 3 shooter. Then as Dan Said .. And elite defender to boot.

Zach, Rashard, and Shaq are going to be elite in the future. It would be fantastic if they all demonstrated that next year! What a great 6-7ish front line they are!

BTW, I loved the press with Zach and Rashard trapping in the backcourt. Should be able to do that a whole lot more going forward.

Dare I say, visions of a shooting offense like Notre Dame.

It's not fair to compare Zach to Cle. Cle could score 10 points in a couple of minutes. Zach can shoot the 3 when open and I think that he can attack the rim and be aggressive because he is a nice ball handler for a 6'7 guard/forward with hops. Cle wasn't as good of a ball handler as Zach is. I just wish that this team had an eraser (such as EO or CJ) at the rim because if we did, we could gamble and play pressure defense even more than we have because we will have more depth and ability to keep the pressure on next year.

Zach gets to the rim from the arc really quickly. A summer or two in the weight room will allow him to absorb contact and finish. I agree I don't see him creating a shot at the buzzer off the dribble. He is a much better pure shooter, at least in form, than Evan. Even when Evan was making shots as a freshman, it always looked flat. It still does on most of his misses and a few of his makes. When he has a nice arch on the ball, he hits a very high percentage.

Zach does everything well! He just needs some consistency.

We have plenty of shooters on the team. Besides Frankamp and Brown, we have some good shooters coming in. Kelly was a pretty good 3-point shooter himself (44.4%), even though he didn't take that many 3's.

That's good because the 3-18 against Notre Dame won't do it. But I do think that this is one reason that we will see Fred, Ron, and Conner play at the same time more often than just at the end of games to protect the lead. I still don't think that it will happen regularly, but it will happen when we need to score because both Ron and Conner can shoot successfully from deeeep when they can catch and shoot instead of creating their own shot.
