Never met him, but my Dad did when Steve was coach at Cowley Co... said, politely, he "never really seemed to fit in" which means he was a little strange to folk in AC.

I had heard the Gray and Polk "tampering", too, from a very reliable source at the time.

If Gray and/or Polk came here, I'm pretty sure we never would've ended up with Marshall, and very likely would not have had 4 straight NCAA appearances with a Final 4.
