Honest comment here, not trying to come off as smug...but if we're willing to pay 3G over $2mm to stay here, why would we then go after Jans, who is a PHENOMENAL guy and coach, but only has one year of head coaching experience under his belt, with recruits that weren't all his? I'd be upset if we didn't pay someone at least a million a year for this job. If we're going to walk the walk every year with continued success, let's (let the money) talk the talk."Say it slowly and savor it..."
Nothing worse than sCUm/sKUm

I have another crazy idea. John Lucas. Two 5 star recruits have already said that he should be a coach, and a lot of tbe top recruits really like him. Now I know its not all about recruiting and getting 5 star players, but if he is a good coach we should go after him. By the way, the two players were Caleb Swanigan and Thon Maker, and There are reports that Thon will follow him wherever he goes. It's probably unlikely, just another idea.

If GM leaves. I will be excited to see who we get. We will have guys knocking down doors to coach here.
No doom and gloom. We have the support to get a top notch coach.
No one knows that we can't find someone better than GM...
We just need to make sure we get someone who believes in what they can do at WSU. Not someone seeing the job only as a stepping stone.
But if coaches aren't being fired, it's a sign your program is winning."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

Maybe Bill Self wants to be King of Kansas? Does Wichita have a good shop for decent hairpieces?"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

If Jans hadn't left and was still associate head coach, would we view it differently? Would it be assumed we would hand the reins over to him, or still look outside? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would have Fogler-Cohen flashbacks, but early this season we speculated the impact of the loss of Jans, so I think most have a fairly high opinion of him. I'm just curious if it would change anyone's thought process had he NOT gone out to get his own head coaching gig?

Recruiting is crucial to success, but so is development, game planning, and in-game coaching. Not to mention the off the court activities with boosters and fans that can make or break a program."Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should accomplish with your ability."
