It might be highly unlikely, but if we could get Kenny Payne from UK that would be incredible. He is without a doubt one of the best recruiters in the nation and could influence some top recruits to come with him. I still hope and pray that HCGM doesn't leave, but if he did, Kenny Payne would be a fantastic pickup.

Chris Jans would make the most sense. He did an unbelievable amount of work when he was here, was an amazing recruiter and his wife is still here until their daughter graduates high school. Plus, his family is in Iowa, I believe, and his wife's family is in Chicago so there are natural Midwest ties. The bottom line is that we need someone that will get results and is willing to plant some deep roots. When you consider that WSU is a top 25 paying gig and very comparable to what Syracuse and North Carolina pays there is no reason this needs to be a stepping stone job. I realize they play in better conferences but you don't hear Williams' or Boeheim's names come up for openings. I haven't put any thoughts here because I certainly don't want to jinx anything BUT I do truly believe that if we brought in Jans that the program wouldn't miss a beat."We can't win at home. We can't win on the road. As the general manager, I just can't figure out where else to play." -Pat Williams
