A couple of things:
I can also confirm that I've heard Jans was as big of a reason for our success as Marshall, specifically when it came to recruiting, scouting, and game planning.
Gregg doesn't owe anyone in Wichita a damn thing. If he leaves, so be it, and I wish him the best. All of the success and notoriety we've attained over the last few years is something that we cannot ever repay."In God we trust, all others must bring data." - W. Edwards Deming

I don't think HCGM owes Wichita anything. Assuming he would depart for Austin, I feel that HCGM shouldn't do a departing pressed in Wichita. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions when he doing his Austin junket. We need to be focused on the future and securing the best right fit for Wichita State. Regardless of what happens, I wish HCGM and his family well.

Some of you guys are silly. If Coach Marshall leaves then you celebrate everything wonderful he did for WSU and go find the next guy.
If Marshall thinks Jans is ready, then you hire Jans. If he thinks Jans needs more seasoning, then you find someone else. I would personally take his recommendation on the next coach. Even if he left, he would hardly want WSU to fall apart without him.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

I bet that Underwood, White, and Prohm will all be at least mentioned as possibilities for the SEC jobs.
That's who I would look at. Too bad Cooper sort of struggled last few years.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

Try looking at it this way. Three major coaching jobs become available and your name is at the top of the list for all three. If you accept one of the three , I doubt you name would be at the top of the wishlist for job openings in the next five years. In other words, he is at the pinnacle at Wichita State...the hottest commodity...and still has goals/objectives to fulfill. He may make more money elsewhere (even questionable), but you can guarantee that he will not be recognized and loved by a larger percentage of the population in any other city than he is in Wichita. btw, you know there are 100 times as many dumb call-in show questioners in Austin/Tuscaloosa/Knoxville than even in Wichita (not comparing percentages here).
Check the quote of Marshall in my sig line...winning is everything."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Not his M.O. Not sure what Ron's interest in a graduate degree is. He is majoring in Business Finance at WSU. If he transfers he has to enroll in a grad program that WSU does not offer.
When 3G left Winthrop for WSU he refused to even consider bringing any players with him. Either current payers or recruits saying it just would not be right.
