Hire Jans, keep Heier, and keep the continuity of what we have. Many of the big time recruits we have had have been because of those two guys. And there are many in the know that say from a strategy standpoint, Jans was the guy who stirred the drink.

Jans was in Cleveland this weekend. It was like a long lost son had finally returned home. The donors love the guy.
If Marshall goes I think Heier goes too.

No effing way they pay their next coach anywhere close to $4.7 millIon... Just don't make sense

        • Let's say hypothetically Texas has narrowed their choice to GM and Shaka Smart, and both want the job, and both are willing to accept the same number. All things being equal, I have to think Texas' first choice would be Smart. He's about 15 years younger. Thoughts?

I might be wrong but I don't think GM would make Heier his head assistant. Jans would. Jans and Heier are tight.

Coaches can all pursue any sponsorships they want.

I don't know that I have a solution, but it makes you think something is fishy!
True... and all this time all I wanted was an IBA watch party and an Evan Wessel Almighty Burger.

              • Marshall would take Anthony Grant or Moton and also keep the Lucas kid.

Nope. I think they want a winner and Marshall is a better winner. Gregg has 10-15 years left. That's quite a run.

Not sure from Texas' eyes that GM would be viewed as a better winner. Maybe. Smart has been able to sign better recruiting classes, on paper at least.

team meetings are the give away. But, I'm thinking HCGM doesn't want to coach another 10+ years. He is better off here than starting over in Texas

                            • life is full of curveballs, but i can't believe, don't want to believe, that marshall would leave before van vleet's senior year. for non-basketball texas? they damn near hate college basketball down there.

that uk job is his in 2/3 years. (he's a proud south carolina guy- unc is deplorable to him, so x that one off the list)
