To be fair, they were very early in the 11 years. After that, they have been riding on the coattails of an inflated Big 12 reputation. In any other conference, they would have missed at least half of those.

So hypothetically if Marshall did leave for Texas.... We should hire Barnes in his place... :)

Per Twitter, for what that's worth, Texas has decided to part ways with Barnes but has yet to announce it publicly. Honestly, if true, better this year than next. I think it's much harder for Marshall to leave this year. Texas is an intriguing job though, I'll lose a few mins of sleep if they publicly confirm Barnes is gone.

I gotta pinch myself. We aren't just one of the best teams in the country. We are one of the ELITE teams in the country:

                - Final Four
                - Perfect season and punched out by National Runner-up Kentucky
                - Sweet Sixteen with glorious, stunning, magnificent and fulfilling victory over Big 12 champs
                - Best point guard in the country
                - Best defender in the country

That's a helluva resume'. And we aren't getting worse, we're getting better. How do you uproot an extremely happy family and walk away from that for money?

Let me preface this by saying I hope Marshall sticks around. Best for the conferencr to force teams to get better to compete.

Are either Baker or VanVleet close to graduating? If not I would guess Marshall would stay at least 1 more year. If either or both could take advantage of the graduate transfer rule I would be a tad more worried.

Huh? Where in the heck do you think those guys are going if they had any choice in the country? They have a F4, perfect season, and S16 here. If you don't think they are more loyal than that, you don't know squat about WSU. I guarantee you NEITHER would leave for Kentucky if they were allowed to. And there's nobody else a close second in college basketball right now.

Those guys are Shockers to the core.

Baker and Wessel fit that criteria.

I would hope any player with that resume is loyal. However, sometimes players follow coaches. We saw Nic Moore follow Jank. Weak comparison.

Baker and Wessel will be eligible but my impression is they're very loyal to the program. Don't expect them to be anywhere else next year but here.

Marshall is pretty darn loyal too. If he leaves, he will leave the right way and on extraordinarily good terms. I doubt he'd let even eligible players follow him.

This makes me laugh. The thought of Wessel transferring out his senior year with the resume he has built here. Third generation legacy transferring after building an empire? Get outta here and stop this nonsense. :)

Put it this way ... Wessel is more loyal than coach is, if that's even possible.
