I would be completely surprised if Jans is back on our bench. I know Marshall and Jans are friends and we all know how loyal Gregg is to his staff, but he fulfilled any professional obligation he may have felt he owed Jans in helping him obtain the Bowling Green job. That won't, of course, preclude Gregg from helping his friend in most other ways. Sometimes you just have to step back and look at the bigger picture.

Interesting read from ESPN (the magazine I believe) that may or may not have relevance to the Chris Jans topic. Either way it's a fascinating but tragic story.

Once one of college basketball's brightest coaches, Jason Rabedeaux died mysteriously in Saigon, leaving his loved ones and colleagues to grapple with how far he'd fallen.

While I would have loved to have Grant on staff here, I think this is VERY good news.

That's a step up from the Bama head coaching job.

IMO .. this Assistant Coaching Job has to be considered the hottest non-Head Coach Job out there right now. Top 10 Team returning, with a true Floor General (FVV) and one of the best coaches in the country that has produced 2 DI head coaches in the last 2 years. Marshall should basically have his pick of just about anyone he wants.

Does Thorn Maker's dad need a job?

I wonder if Self would be interested in an assistant coaching job.

Don't see how we would be interested in him. He loses to MVC teams way to often to be helpful. :)

He has demonstrated a unique lack of ability to scout and defeat MVC opponents. Some have said WSU wouldn't have won the Big 12 during our best years, but I contend that in some years KU has won the Big 12, they would not have won the MVC...

If WSU hired him, he wouldn't let anyone sign until the Spring!! ;)
