What I think was a bigger factor, and to HCGM's credit he said it's not an excuse, was the short turnaround. One of the last games Sunday night. The first game Thursday night. Then the plane was late on Tuesday. I can't say this for sure, but I believe that the NCAA paid for the team to bus to Omaha, not fly. We said screw it, we'll pay for it ourselves. Can anyone else confirm that? I can't imagine if they had to bus back to ICT, as planned by the NCAA. Plus I'm pretty sure Kentucky played Saturday (as did ND) and WVU played earlier on Sunday than WSU, yet we get the quick turnaround (and traveled the furthest). I'm not claiming conspiracy at all. Just explaining why we looked dead legged.

I think all the minutes in games throughout the season maybe had an effect on Ron in both tournaments in March. That and the hard work on defense - just seemed like he played a lot of minutes always. Hopefully if he comes back next year, he'll be able to get more rest during the game with either Zach or Conner or others substituting for him.

Just wanted to come by and tell you guys Congrats on a great season and tourney. I think if FVV and Baker return you guys could honestly go undefeated in the regular season again..thats the rival fan and coach in me. I agree with a lot of you that your two guns may not quite be ready for the jump but i also agree that they would get better practice and what not declaring and at least playing D league or europe. Of course the rival in me wants them to go to give UNI a better shot next year but I also would want to see perfection if they stayed. Who knows what HCGM will do, but I'd guess stay.
you guys did a great job this year even without Early. Very impressive. You guys had a bracket of death it almost seemed and as MVC counterparts..you kicked some ass and took names and it was tremendous to watch. Both UNI and WSU left the tourney too early but that's March for ya. Next year should be a crazy year for the Valley with almost every team returning a solid nucleus except for the Panthers. Hopefully our rebuilding/reloading year doesn't hurt as bad as our S16 season. With what we lose and our schedule next year...could be a setup for disaster!
Should make for a memorable season in the Valley. Hoping for 3 teams in next year! (btw if Paige from UNC returns for his senior season...UNC is coming to cedar falls!!!!!!)
Again, Shox...congrats on a superfantabulistic season and tourney run. Hope you all have a great offseason and we'll chat more in October! If any of you ever make it down to Austin, TX...message me...dinner and beer on me :)
