  • Scheduling KU

Previous to the KU game I posted on another thread that they did not need to schedule
us and we didn't need them either. Now that the game is history I'd like to update those
thoughts. We still don't need them but they need to schedule us for some redemption.
I would not even consider a home and away two game series now. NOW the deal needs
to be a two for one with two at OUR place or forget it.

If we win, we get to play Kentucky on Saturday.

Who cares? We got to this point without them scheduling it.

I'm sorry but who cares. Beat Notre Dame.

I would like to get KU on the schedule but I don't anticipate that will happen any time soon. In any case, there are a multitude of other options that are just as good and I hope we can land our share of those.

I think the situation has changed momentum a bit. Before we met them in the NCAA tournament, I felt that the possibility of KU scheduling us was very slim, but if they did, it would be a situation where it was 2 for 1, and our 1 would be at IBA. So 1 in IBA, 1 in Allen and 1 at Sprint. I think we may have agreed to it just to get the games. At this point I think it's home and home or IBA and Sprint, but never a 2 for 1.

We need to schedule them regardless of the state of the program. You can't be loud when you're on the uptick and then be silent during the dog days. I'm not saying we've always been like that, but I see a lot of t-shirts coming out of the woodwork who weren't there for the bad days talking crazy KU smack now and making us look like idiots. /endgrumpyrant

I think 3G has already firmly established that 2 for 1 would never be acceptable to him. 1 at Allen Fieldhouse and 1 at IBA would be acceptable as long a Shocker fans get the 1st shot at the IBA tickets. If we have to make 5,000 tickets at IBA available to KU fans then they need to make 5,000 comparable tickets available at the Phog for Shocker fans.

Slapping around KU for 13 was fun but anticlimactic. Let's get Louisville or Kentucky on our schedule.

Edit: Replaced boring with anticlimactic. Boring was a bad word choice. It definitely was not boring.

I think Gregg understood the dymanics and would have gone along with AFH/Sprint/Intrust. Now, we have all the leverage. Forget Intrust. Straight-up home/home where they have to come to Koch, or we'll continue to have bragging rights until the NCAA deems it necessary for us to meet in March again.

Great that the two programs FINALLY played but it really is too bad the game and all the fans were NOT able to spend their hard earned dollars within the Kansas state borders. From a business point of view...Nebraska's gain was Kansas loss. Something I would guess the Governor of Kansas took note of.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to hear Marshall say that we will play them at AFH and they can play at IBA (as a home game). Tickets for that could rival the NCAA tourney and be north of $200.00 for a cheap seat.
