You could tell by the way he answered the question, IMO. Don't listen to his words, listen to the tone. Maybe I'm ready too much into it, but he seemed dismissive of it. Anyone else think that?

We know he has listened in the past, he SHOULD listen. You can bet your ass I'd listen to anyone offering close to double what I make, and I don't make 2 million dollars a year.

More money and conference affiliation are the 2 things they can offer Gregg. I guess if they offered everything we offer (anything he asks for) and give him 4+ mil a year MAYBE that could be "crazy" enough. Oh and the big one....A 7 YEAR OR MORE CONTRACT. He will definately require a long contract like he has here if and when he does make a move. Job security and committment are huge things to him.

i dont think money alone will lure him. A better conference at a program he feels can contend at the top of that conference and a LONG contract might be enough.

Is Alabama that job? I dont think so. However only Marshall can truely make that call.

I personally think the Gary Parrish article last week was a carefully orchestrated conspiracy by HCGM and his agent to set the minimum terms of prospective bidders before the carousel officially opened this week. Teams now know the rules for bidding and the reserve price set by his current job and supporters. This was done to keep the chatter to a minimum while we are still playing games, and to draw all serious bidders out into the open.

This creates sufficient drama all around. WSU sharpens it pencils and has sufficient time to stuff its war chest. The big boys get exposed and start a bidding war. The world sees how great WSU is. We keep our coach. He gets another fat raise. The recruiting pipeline fills for 2016.

Rinse and repeat next year.

Just remember, Bill Self listened to Oklahoma State's offer too...sure there was more history there, but zero chance he was going. You might have the best job in the world in your opinion, but if an intriguing job offer comes your way, you're likely to at least listen to what they have to offer before you say no.

Just remember, Bill Self listened to Oklahoma State's offer too...sure there was more history there, but zero chance he was going. You might have the best job in the world in your opinion, but if an intriguing job offer comes your way, you're likely to at least listen to what they have to offer before you say no.

If you make it clear that you aren't leaving, you limit your negotiating position.
