Just gonna have to start retiring jerseys, not numbers!

No argument here. Don't care what 'rules' say... He, Fred & Ron should be hanging from the rafters!!!
If you're not going to go all the way, why go?

That's kind of my point. It gets crowded near the top.

He's the #3 guy on this team offensively. He consistently drawn the toughest defensive assignments over the other two. Although FVV's excellent on-ball defensive skills are probably surpassing Cotton's in that category.

Which is my point: it's easy to measure offensive contributions and incredibly difficult to measure defensive ones. But, IMO, Cotton's contributions aren't less than Baker's just because they were primarily defensive while Baker's were primarily offensive.

I'd put all three up, although you're right, Baker's might depend on his return next year. And I wouldn't put up Early's as a two-year player.

I'd support Tekele being raftered. He is my favorite player (in my lifetime).

Would be awesome to put all three of the blackout members up at the same time.

In the spirit of beating KU today, I think we should pull a page out of their chapter and retire "jerseys" instead of numbers. I don't remember the criteria but it is first team AA or Final Four MVP (I could be wrong though.)

If we stick with the current requirements FVV, RB, and CE are the only ones eligible correct?

                  Then maybe Tekele and Aubrey?

I doubt that Tekele's number/jersey will be retired but he will be in the Shocker Hall of Fame for sure. In lieu of hanging Tekele's jersey in the rafters maybe we could have a section where we could hang replica jersey's of Tekele's high profile victims such as Wayne Selden.

I believe there should be a mural with Fred, Ron, Tekele and Evan on it.

I think Ron, Fred and Cle should all three be up there.

Tekele, in my mind is the new Warren. The next guy in.

                          Then Warren.

                          Then Aubrey.

Its all in good fun to talk about this stuff and how to enshrine current history.

Jerseys, not numbers. Add all the guys above and I wouldn't argue one bit.

Love Tekele. I'm happy I get to watch him play more.

Cotton's jersey most likely won't be retired. And I'm okay with that because he goes to sleep at night knowing how great his time is/was here. Just think about all he's been a part of, sweet sixteen, final four, perfect regular season, winningest shocker, beating KU, sport center top 10 posterizations, etc.. Even without his number in the rafters he knows he was meant to be here and it went just about perfect. I have a lot of respect for Perry Ellis, but I wonder if the same could be said for him and KU?

Edit. Whoops, that needs to be plural: sweet sixteens*

Someone needs to come up with an initiative to retire Jerseys as well as numbers. This is the last time 23 should be worn but Tekele, Fred, Ron, and Cle need to be in the rafters.

I'd also be in favor of retiring Jerseys, not numbers, but I'd keep the criteria the same.
