  • In a bit of randomness I watched the game with shocker great Ryan Martin. He walked into Blondies bar right as the game was about to tip. Place was packed, but we had open seats at our table. He accepted our invitation to sit with us and I knew that was a good sign.

Great game. Haven't smiled like this over sports in who knows how long!

If you were one of the fans who posted during one of our "slumps" that there was no way we are a Sweet 16 team or said we are probably one and done, I am paging you to pay penance for your sins by asking Wu Almighty for forgiveness here.
Paging SB Shock and his awesome 2007=2015 thread created after the GW loss.

        • and this..........
[YAHOO] IT IS A MATCHUP OF THE BLUE-BLOODS AND THE BLUE-COLLARED, COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROYALTY AGAINST THE NOUVEAU RICHE. THE JAYHAWKS HAVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BANNERS HANGING FROM THE RAFTERS, THE SHOCKERS A CHIP PERPETUALLY HANGING FROM THEIR SHOULDERS.

”THE PROGRAMS ARE NOT EQUAL. IT’S PLAIN AND SIMPLE,” EXPLAINED DARNELL VALENTINE, WHO STARRED FOR THE JAYHAWKS IN THE LATE 1970S AND EARLY ’80S. ”THE PROGRAMS ARE JUST NOT THE SAME.”

Darnell, with all due respect, you need to slow your roll.....

Yea, 1981 when we beat them and went to the Elite 8. Apologies if reply was posted earlier. Been on the road all day..

                      • Congrats fellas. Great win, and heck of a team effort. Evan was money. On to Cleveland!

                        • I just finished watching the game and even though I knew the outcome, I was still getting pissed about our play for the first 15 minutes of the game. We could have whooped KU by 30 if we played like we did from the last 5 minutes of the first half on. Good job Shox and thank you Evan for keeping us in the game and igniting the rest of the boyz. I've been critical of Evan for his lack of offensive capability, but tonight I'm hoping he found something.

                          • What a day for Shocker Nation, we had big games from the veterans. What a game from Evan, his shot has been coming on over the 2nd half of the season and he was huge. The defense he played on Perry was big. Ron hit some timely 3's and anotheir stellar defensive game. Tekele, well what can you say he muscled his way to 19 pts and his usual defensive game. Fred was Fred, steady, tough, and big time leader. Of course anything following the Indiana game was going to be hard to top, but without that we probably wouldnt have played kU. Thats what is so special about these guys, they play smart, tough, team ball, and by the way they are very good and they hate to lose. Darius came through down the stretch and Zach Brown continues to grow before our eyes. Look at the game Bush had in the first half, he was big on defense and I think he helped turn the game with his presence. Morris battled fouls again, but in the second half he played big in the paint. Great game, sweet sixteen here we come...

                              • Not impressed about this article. The writer tries to bail out KUs performance by claiming players "didn't show up." Of course it could have been the Socker's amazing d today. The hilarious part is at the end, the article posts quotes from the presser totally contradicting the writers thesis that players "didn't show up."

“They were making us catch the ball out further than we usually do, and it was hard for us to initiate offense.” – Kansas guard Devonte’ Graham.
“I’m not embarrassed that we lost to a good team today… It’s very disappointing, and certainly I feel bad for our guys, and Perry [Ellis] said it, because our guys were ready to play.” – Self, on his team’s preparation.

If I had a gun with two bullets and was in a room with Hitler, Bin Laden, and a Creighton fan, I think I'd shoot the Creighton fan twice.
