Im gonna laugh so hard if KU does lose. I actually think it would be worse than losing to us. People would make fun of them for years.

I mean, I'll pull for KU to win (not necessarily "cheer"). I want to see the matchup with them, but if they do lose to NMSU, I will undoubtedly laugh my ass off until our game starts.

This is about how I feel, too. Definitely wouldn't be heartbroken if KU lost to NM State.

The nice thing about actually having this game as a potential is that he/they can insult us about "little man syndrome" all they want, but THEY STILL HAVE TO PLAY US. If we both get there, and WSU wins, it actually works against you (as a KU fan) when you perpetually belittle us. Instead of getting beat by a respected foe, you just got beat by the little 12 year old girl dkwn the street of your own making. If we have little man syndrome, they have some kind of reality syndrome.

I guess that's why we are already hearing all our friends switching their tone to say how we deserved higher than a 7 seed and we are all the sudden a decent team and that KU got screwed by getting us early. The ones that see it coming are already hedging. They are wise to do that.

It's more I just prefer not to be cynical and automatically assume the worst about people out of the gate.

It would be great if we could talk to KU fans like the IU fans have been talking to us, but I see that day is not even in sight. Realistically, KU probably has to come down to earth and go through a really rough time before that has a chance to happen.

Great even-keeled fellows over there. They all seem to be good 'ole boys. Cracks me up as they are so nonchalant. Funny and me thinks their fans will get along great with ours in Omaha. Wish I was going as I'd definitely buy a round or two of drinks for those guys!

I'm not being cynical. I lived in ToPuka for three years back in the early 80's. Although I did not dislike ToPuka, I found it a little boring (but I have always thought it would be a great place to raise a family, kind of like Amarillo, except without the cow patty smell), most of the people were down to earth and nice.

However, shocker fans were as scarce as hen's teeth. You were either a big jayhawk fan, or a big wildcat fan. Those that admitted to be shocker fans were the butt of jokes from their Big XII bretheren (these were my experiences).

One day, I was able to find an old friend, who I have lost contact with over the years (and attended WSU with me). His bio on the website of the company that employs him stated that he liked to "follow KU sports in his spare time".

That's what ToPuka does to you!!!
