  • St. Louis hotels

Call me crazy, but I'm already looking at hotels for next March. It hit me that maybe we should try to get a shockernet hotel block. Has this been tried? I think we could get good numbers if we join forces for buying power. I would get 5-6 rooms myself. If we could get 20-30 rooms maybe we could get a good rate and have an official Shockernet gathering place. Thoughts?

I would be glad to do the legwork on this. How many rooms can folks tentatively commit to?

Why St L? They are playing down the street in OKC.

Great idea, although I'll admit that I'm probably skipping Arch Madness next year to save money for NCAA as there are 4 very doable sites in the first weekend.

Last year was the first year in awhile that I didn't go to Arch Madness, and the guys cut down nets. If they would win without me next year, I might just stay away from Arch Madness permanently.

What are the 4 close sites?

I would do a minimum of 2 rooms, perhaps 4.

We really like the Pear Tree with free hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravey and 3 waffle machines) and 2 hour happy hour (3 beers a person plus chips and salsa).

How about the Drury by Union Station? All the breakfast, and drinks plus full supper, secure free parking.
Already have mine booked for next year. Always book before leaving. Next year starts March 3rd.

We stayed at the Hilton @ the Ballpark this year. It was right next door to Ballpark Village, so that was nice.

Pear tree and Drury were going to be my first places to check.

They put out chicken strips, hotdogs, baked potatoes, chili, cavotini (? pasta) & meatballs, not all at the same time but a veriety of these each night. also salad, carrots & celery. The soft drink machines are on and popcorn all afternoon and evening. My poor wife doesn't get to go out for supper anymore during the tournament.

This year we stayed at the Pear Tree for $89, couldn't get that price for next year...had to settle for the Drury at Union Station for $99, but looks like it'll be just as good or better.

                              Moose,
Where did you get that rate for the Drury? Not finding anything close in that price range.

                              Thanks.
Above all, make the right call.
