How'd you get that rate at Drury? I called and tried to get 30 plus rooms blocked and was quoted $179!!

Those prices sound a lot like corporate rates for Bank of America or AT&T. Are you saying you simply strut on up to the desk on your way out of town each year and they give those prices to you with no other factors involved?

The past 10 years or so I always booked through Hotwire or Priceline, but learned of a way to get dirt cheap rooms in St Louis Drury hotels last year. A buddy of mine came to the Pear Tree with us this year and requested the same rate I had ($89), while the regular rate was $169...I was surprised they let him have it. I'd rather not share on here, they'll probably nix the deal if it gets abused. I don't mind sharing with a few Shocker fans if you're interested PM me...but for sure if someone tries to block 30 rooms at that rate they may cancel it for everyone.

This sounds like a great idea. Sadly I have family that works for a Marriot property and we get an amazing deal staying just 15 minutes outside StL so probably doing that again. However, if you guys do book some rooms together, you guys should have some sort of social night at the Hotel's bar. I would be down for that!
