I really like Brown. He didn't put up eye popping stats this year but he also rarely screws up. You don't see him bobbling passes or taking bad shots, plus he has an offensive game and plays pretty solid D. He kinda reminds me a little of Tekele's freshman year. Tekele didn't really do anything outstanding, but was just an all around solid player. Brown's got a big upside if he continues to put in the work.

No, I don't think anyone in this group will ever have that kind of potential, but it will be interesting to see what SM, RK and especially RN can do with an off season of intense coaching and weight conditioning. If these guys were juniors or seniors and playing like this, I would agree that we should be concerned, but they're freshmen. Their bodies will develop, they will get stronger and smarter and they will be better. We just don't know what their ultimate potential will be. I think I heard a play-by-play announcer say that a famous coach once said that the best thing about Freshmen is that they become Sophomores.
Having said that, I think it would have been best for RN to redshirt this year, he wasn't near strong enough to play in the low post.Originally posted by Dan View PostOlynyk took a redshirt after his sophomore year. A few of our guys could stand to take this route.
Kelly Olynyk, with a RS year, didn't turn 22 until just after the 2013 Dance in his senior year.
Being jucos, a RS for Wamukota or Glass is unlikely. Morris already had his RS and Rauno, being 21 as a freshman, is not very likely either. That leaves Kelly, who was the only one who played in all 30 games, had the most minutes of this group, having just 200 less minutes than Carter, 80 minutes more than Morris, and having almost more minutes than BushW, Rauno, and Tevin combined. Not sure I see Kelly as a RS either. Without a RS, Kelly will be 22 at the beginning of his senior year.
Not saying these players couldn't use a RS, just not sure it is very likely.

My guess as of right now; Henderson, Holland, Glass, and Nurger. 2 will leave the program. I am going to go with Holland and Henderson since our backcourt is crowded and they can get playing time elsewhere. I am going to say Shamet to sunrise, since between Baker and Frankamp we won't have much PT at the 2. That takes care of the 3 scholarships we are over. We all know 3G goes will experience over everything.
1. Fred VanVleet
2. Ron Baker
3. Evan Wessel
4. Rashard Kelly
5. Shaq Morris
1-3 bench: Frankamp, Brown, McDuffie, and Taylor
4-5 bench: Bush, Nurger, Hamilton, and Glass

No, I don't think they will sign another low post player unless they're like a first team NJCAA all-American or top 50 Freshman. Otherwise, it's just as big a crapshoot as what they have right now.

Perry Ellis suuuure would look good playing the 4 for us next year if he were to graduate and get a little tired of playing for #2 in the state (and suffering all the idiots that are supposedly on his side, yet talking smack about his game).Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Yea, right.
Bush has progressed little since October and if you think HCGM and his guys have a warm and fuzzy with the prospect of him playing 15-20/game next year, I've got a whole bunch of land in NW KS to sell you.
SM has shown glimpses of ability but he also hasn't figured out how to stay on the floor 20/game due to conditioning and fouling.
I guess since Bush scores 4 points in a game and doesn't foul out in 5 minutes that now makes him the second coming of Carl Hall.
Alrighty.
Trust me, recruiting is ongoing as I type.
That is all.Above all, make the right call.

There was that juco whose coach got pissed when he announced he wanted to sign with wsu. Think his name will pop up in the off season. Haven't been on in awhile so apologies if he's already signed with a new team or any other current news I'm not aware of.I just want to stand on land...

Especially anyone who hasn't sat a redshirt year yet and was never actually recruited. Sorry.
