Mark Adams drives me nuts

I think pairing Mark And Mitch together is too much over the top schtick. I like Mark much better when he is paired with someone like Rich Hollenberg.

Quite frankly I think The Bruce and Shane do a nice job together.

I guess you can't really blame Mark Adams though. These guys see the huge success Dick Vitale has been and the decide to imitate that over-the-top approach.

His views of the Valley and the program are complementary.

But he is still a horrible game caller. The over-the-top, cult-of-personally driven approach to covering basketball drives me nuts. Before the game you can write out a Mark Adams bingo card and almost complete it before the opening tip. I get sick of hearing floor-general, play angry points, floor burns, etc during each broadcast. He twice said FVV was so good HCGM could leave the program and no one would notice. WTF? Today it was said that we call Koch the "Cameron Indoor Stadium of the Valley" What?!!? (Maybe, Mark said that).

As far as being good for the Valley, let me put it to you this way. If I said one of you were not only the best poster on Shockernet, but the best poster in the history of Shockernet and one of the best poster on any board in any forum in the country, how seriously would you take that? When he is that way he detracts from our program, not adds to it.

Lol Bike Idiot is not a troll. I like Adams but he is what he is-an ambassador for not only the Valley but other non Power 5 leagues as well. It's kind of hard to do that without engaging in outrageous hyperbole- otherwise no one would listen.

Mark is a proponent of the Valley. He gives the conference positive publicity in a way most ESPN announcers don't.

Mark is so over the top that he says things that are just plain silly. He exaggerates to the point that he comes across as a parody of college announcers rather than an actual announcer. Mark pretty much acts like there are multiple future NBA hall of famers on each MVC team and that the MVC is as good as any conference in America.

Many of you are arguing that paragraph 1 is correct and 2 is wrong. Others say 1 is wrong and 2 is correct.

The correct answer is that both paragraphs are correct.

I know sometimes it can be hard to find things to complain about but sheesh...

We complain that we don't get enough respect or attention from the media....then we get a member of the media, on the biggest stage in sports (ESPN) and we gripe that he's a bit too much?

Mark Adams is paid to do what he does. You can argue his approach all you want. But to call a guy that gives so much love to Wichita State "horrible" is a moronic mindset to have.
