From 2007-10 I thought they had the talent to do a lot more, but underperformed. I lay that on Jank.

I want to make something clear for Illinois State fans who hate WSU and want to call this a rivalry.
I look at Illinois State's school size and athletic department and hope that someday they will be part of the group of Valley schools that make this conference relevant. Your footbal is going strong. Revive your classy basketball fanbase with a good coach and a strong program. You have reasons to expect to be good but for some reason that product has not been delivered.
WSU, UNI, SIU, Bradley, MoST and Illinois St should all be playing good basketball and every WSU/MVC fan pulls for that. That's not rivalry. Some Illinois St fans are mad at WSU and call it a rivalry because WSU is doing good. WSU just wants Illinois St to BE good.
Now that I've seen a classy fan come by and state the obvious it got my MVC blood going. Once again I say, if those 6 schools would all get it together at the same time, we wouldn't be so bothered about wanting to get out of here. We've been betrayed by the conference for almost all of the Marshall Era. That's not me being elitist, that's me expecting something that should be realistic from the other schools in this conference.
I even think it's reasonable to expect Drake, Indiana St, Evansville and Loyola to be decent some of the time. I've gotta just move on and stop thinking about this...
This conference just flat should not suck as much as it does. It makes no sense. The current standings are completely inverted and just hilarious once you get past WSU and UNI.

I think the last couple wins have helped the Shox confidence and bench players, so hopefully tonight will just be a continuation of both. Seemed like a big game early on in the season, and still is in a way, but both programs seem to be headed in different directions. Sounds like Darius is healthy again, and I think Fred and Cotton will score at least 15 apiece. The big question mark will be Ron and if his shooting touch is back yet and if so, he'll have at least 15 as well. My prediction is the Shox win by 9 - 70-61.

"This is the first look at that play where it looks like Jackie deliberately stuck his leg out in Cotton's direction. Past angles were much more blurry and suggested he was in the act of rebounding. Much as I hate Wichita, I might do a 180 on this play. That said, I am still baffled how the officials could initially let play continue without so much as a foul call on Jackie, only to revisit with a review AFTER Johnny Hill had drawn a foul at the other end."

Their fans are huge pricks, but it's probably not the drought that caused that.

I'm not sure that I agree with you on this. There have been numerous comments that the ILST fan base has changed from classy to irrational. Even longtime ILST fans have posted on this message board that they feel that the quality of their fan base has deteriorated. Certainly a prolonged post season drought would elevate frustration and hatred/jealousy towards successful programs. No where in my original post did I say WSU has not had a drought or ISU's drought is greater than WSU's. Most people know about the dark 90's and it is often referenced as a reason Shocker fans so much appreciate the current state of our program. Go shockers!ShockerNet is a rat infested cess pool.
