Dunno. But we need to be wearing the old school MTXE black unis on Saturday, please!

I don't place a lot of blame on the kids, they need some adult supervision. It came to a point last night and I hope it is addressed once and for all. I'm glad that it was only feelings that got hurt and not a player.

I thought it was a class act for David Hall to go over and give one of the kids a pat on the back.

Somehow I think those kids will be compensated for any embarrassment they might have suffered.

If nothing else, I volunteer the local Shockernetters to fill the position of moppers or mop supervisors as required. My only stipulation is that, should Creighton return to CKA, Fever gets that game.
I know the volunteer group that helps with parking would gladly take it on at no extra cost to the University.

        • If you go back and look at the replay of the game toward the end (3:07 left) when this all took place, you can see Zack Brown go down with his leg bent back and his foot twisted. He slipped again trying to get up. He could have really hurt himself. And that's immediately after a Loyola player slipped right in front of Zack. Don't blame coach for getting a little overexcited about it. These are HIS kids. Wouldn't you get a bit bent out of shape if your kid was running into danger when you could prevent it. It was the heat of the moment and I'm sure Coach is very sorry if the mop boy got his feelings hurt but not sorry enough to back off what he said then or in post game. We need to change the way we do things as far as this is concerned not only for the sake of the members of our team but for all the visiting athletes. No one wants to see an athlete end a college career (or post college career) because of sweat on the floor. Surely we can find other things for these kids to do this year so they can still participate -- just not as mop boys. And someone tell me why they only mop up in the lane. I understand that's where most of the sweat is because of packing the lane and also because of standing still during free throws, but that's not the only time and place sweat gets on the floor. Those mop up times should come at every time out. If you got rid of all those "wonderful" time out entertainment spots (arm-chair free throws; washing machine ball toss; musical chairs), the floor would be clear of obstruction. You get a good hustling adult out there with a wide mop (one at each end), you could cover a lot of floor in a 30 second time out.

          • Coach Moser and Coach Marshall were BOTH very demonstrative to stop the game and have this area addressed.

            • I think everyone here agrees that keeping the sweat mopped up is important, it just needs to not be done by little kids. Seeing the video that @Anthroshock: posted goes to show why they probably have told the kids not to ever go out while play is in action. I don't have access to a replay - was there ever a stoppage of play to get it mopped up?

No, not until Marshall executed "Ball Boy Staregate."

                • In all this Sweat-gate talk I'm surprised no one has mentioned that the floor was resurfaced prior to the Loyola game. I find that coincidence interesting.

                  • Perhaps, anytime a player falls on the floor, it should be the refs who stop the action to see that it gets taken care of. Thought of this watching the video above. Don't know that this happen on the video, but if a player had fallen in the prior position, turned it over, the other team took it up the court, but quickly got it stolen there may not have been time to wipe it up. I know this would be disruptive to the flow of the game, however, what do you want? Your player getting a quick turnover following your team's turnover and scoring 2 points or slipping, breaking his leg if there was not time to mop it up after fast exchanges of position where player(s) were laying on the floor?

You have a particularly large burr under your saddle. I wasn't close enough to see what happened but I take your word for it that Gregg made a mistake and was more intense than the situation called for. But you go on and on and on and on every chance you get. Do you have other issues with Coach Marshall that you need to get out or is this the only one?

In a recent past game, a player complained about a wet floor condition to a ref and the ref did zero.

If anyone has never suffer the splits on a wet floor, then you have missed some groin agony. It hurts like h*ll.

It was inappropriate at the time and on the post game show. I like the man a lot, think he is an outstanding coach, glad he is ours. He is fallible just like you and me. Don't put him on a pedistal just because he is an outstanding basketball coach for WSU. I have played golf with him 3 times (won 2 tournaments) and found him a good guy to be around. Have no problems at all with him. It's my right on this forum to post my opinions just like you. Move along.
