The level of pessimism on this board is a little surprising. This is the second straight road game some have picked us to lose. I realize Evansville is a good team and will play to win. They are also a home underdog. Could we lose? Sure. I do not believe it is likely.

A very anxious day for me today. Evansville seems to always play the Shockers tough and my Arizona Wildcats are playing Utah today. Hopefully I'll be smiling at the end of the day.Comment

I wouldn't call it pessimism so much as realism. We all realize that overall the valley is tougher and let's face it, the Shox haven't exactly played their best basketball thus far. They are at Evansville today. Combine those factors and it's easy to understand why some are picking this game as a loss. I had the shox losing 2-4 conference games this season. Realism? Shox have lost only two games, one on the road to a top 10 team, another neutral site game. Sorry, but I think there is no evidence that WSU does not clearly remain the dominant team in the Valley with the possible exception of UNI. I do agree that WSU has not yet played its best basketball, but that appears to be coming. Realism does not apply here.
