I've played organized basketball

I thought of playing organized basketball, but then I wouldn't have any excuses.

I noticed how FVV struggled tonight. LOL

I've played some very disorganized basketball. I've also been invited to join the WSU team in a pickup game, but just once. They were never going to ask again, and if they did, I was going to refuse.

FVV has looked like a 1st team AA the last two games. There are more than a few PG's who can do that against Bradley. Not that many that can do it on the road against Loyola.

FVV said in the post-game interview that the team is starting to come together and have everybody on the same page offensively. Last year there were pretty much no new pieces to work into the offense.

I have some very high standards for 1st team AA's It's a lot easier to look like a 1st team AA with an experienced surrounding group than when the team is trying to work in a lot of new faces. I don't think it's any coincidence that FVV is starting to look like the player we have known for 2 years now that the rotation is starting to show some stability.

I think Fred up to this point is having a very solid year. Sure he's forced a few on drives to the basket, but what point guard doesn't. He still has fantastic assist to turnover numbers, and he also has good steals and rebound numbers. I think what most people are concerned about is that his shooting is not up to his standards. Is he pressing a bit, maybe, but I still wouldn't trade him for anyone else. His shooting will come around. The last few games have shown that. I do like the fact that he doesn't let the shooting effect the otheir parts of his game. ******* is nit-picking and has always had it in for the Shockers. Who cares, the Shockers and VanFleet are getting plenty of love from alot of people who really do understand basketball and what a good point guard needs to do. Fred Vanfleet does do those things.

The taffy analogy is dead on. His colleagues frequently make fun of him for any number of different reasons even when he's not on the air with them. I'm starting to think that they only keep him around as some sort of pet.

1. Any publicity is good publicity. Unless your name is Bill Cosby.
2. It's odd that ******* would pick on FVV when Marcus Paige was tabbed as a pre-season POTY guy and his performance is way down. Fred is the less obvious choice for this criticism.
3. We've discussed it at length on this board but any analysis of Fred's performance this year must take into account the loss of Early and the fact that opponents have a full year of tape on FVV that they can study and use to game plan against him.
