3. Fred VanVleet's All-American candidacy

Listen, I’m a HUGE fan of Wichita State’s point guard. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a very good player. But there are plenty who put him as a preseason first-team All-American. He’s just not that. VanVleet has more on his shoulders this season with Cleanthony Early in the NBA and he’s struggling, shooting just 38 percent from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range.

I believe this season truly reflects FVV 's greatness. He has a different role than last year, as others have pointed out, yet he himself isn't concerned with personal achievements. He wants the TEAM to be the best it can, even if he himself doesn't shine as brightly as others would expect. So, as others have mentioned, judge his greatness at the end of the season . I'll bet many AA's won't have as much "team" success as FVV! All in all, if FVV doesn't succeed at the next level, he's definitely positioning himself for a great coaching career, if that's what he chooses to do.
