I watch games here all the time, and I am as straight as an arrow. The service is great, the crowd is diverse the food is decent, the only difference between it and a "straight" sports bar is that there is an autographed picture of Greg Lougainis in the rest room and they have certain "nights" late on whatever days they are (don't ask me when :) I don't know). It is a great place.

The Lawrence "L" redline is half a block away and will drop you off feet away from the arena FYI. It will take about ten minutes.

If you are uncomfortable about being in a bar that has a rainbow flag outside there are indeed plenty of other places to spend your money, but this place is my favorite place in my neighborhood to watch a game. My wife has even attended, as do other wives.

In pointing out that the place is oriented toward gay patrons, I didn't mean to create a furor. I haven't been to The Crew, but I've seen very positive write ups about the place and it's next door to one of my favorite places in all of Chicago, The Green Mill. I think it's fantastic that there's a gay-friendly sports bar, and I had no idea the owner was a WSU alum. I just thought it was odd that you guys were choosing a place so far from the campus when there's 63, Double Bubble, Bruno's, Leona's, Cunneen's, The Pumping Company, and others within 4 blocks of the arena with better game day ambience. Hell, there's even two other gay-friendly bars/restaurants within 3 blocks of Loyola (The Anvil and Gino's North).

Just attempting to illustrate a cultural or social disparity between parties, Rlh04d. My apologies that it went over your head, and yet you somehow still were able to identify something - anything - to be offended by, and in the process make a fairly asinine connection that was neither intentional nor obvious.

Oh, it didn't go over my head, and nothing you said offended me. Both of those are rather irrational conclusions to draw from my post.

And I don't mind people who separate themselves from people with differing views. Most people do. Personally, I don't care about the social/cultural disparities of people from myself, but I know I'm kind of weird like that.

Now relax. I'm hardly calling you a homophobe or even insulting you. Let's not project here so you can get into a tizzy. I was just laughing at your bizarre comparison and ironic conclusion. You can, in fact, acknowledge your own unintentional irony without it implying anything about yourself other than it being a poor attempt at making your point.

You just drew a comparison between homosexuals and the Hell's Angels, and then mentioned "irrational hyperbole" in the next sentence without any sense of irony.

You forgot the Republicans and Democrats comparison which I am registered to be one of those (I won't go into which one because I consider myself to be an intelligent independent although I do identify more with one than the other usually).
Thus, count me in the personally offended group as well :)
