We'll have to contact fantasies and get it set up as the rambler pregame bar.People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do. -Isaac Asimov

Respectful tolerance of alternative lifestyles are one thing. Acting like it is the only bar in town is another. Opting out of that scene with 5,000 other libation choices staring at me in this city is my preferred modus operandiLast edited by shoxlax; January 11, 2015, 11:57 AM.

I'm pretty sure they're not going to be having a male strip show while you're there in the afternoon prior to the game.

Hmm. So bar located close to arena, WSU alumni, and Shocker fan as owner. Shocker memorabilia on display. Oh joy! What a fantastic place to go have a drink before the game! But what! Oh no! The owner might be gay!? Good God, what a travesty! Thank goodness he moved his heathen self away from the bastion of wholesomeness known as Wichita. And thank goodness someone had the guts to tell us how his establishment really is. My family will take our hard earned money some place else! Smh. Some of you on this board are being rediculous.... Get a grip.

Just a slight difference between the owner of a run-of-the-mill establishment being gay or even having an unusually high proportion of the patrons being such, and the bar being marketed and populated specifically towards that demographic. In today's cultural context I doubt you find many that would give a care on the former, but why wouldn't it be an issue in the latter when you are not a part of that demographic? It has nothing to do with homophobia, and everything to with being the odd man out. Would you go to a heavily Republican bar when you are a Democrat, or vice-versa? Would you show up to the Hell's Angels favorite watering hole riding a Vespa and sporting a really sweet scarf? Answer honestly.
But don't let all of this get in the way of your irrational hyperbole.

The only thing I look for in a bar is the "not getting murdered" aspect. So I'd probably stay clear of the Hell's Angel bar, honestly. I don't generally look for a poll of the predominant political and cultural viewpoints of other people at a bar to make sure they're as lock-step with me as possible.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

Just attempting to illustrate a cultural or social disparity between parties, Rlh04d. My apologies that it went over your head, and yet you somehow still were able to identify something - anything - to be offended by, and in the process make a fairly asinine connection that was neither intentional nor obvious.Last edited by SHOCKvalue; January 11, 2015, 02:16 PM.

Look I am the last person that is intolerant. Sounds like you are because I prefer a heterosexual atmosphere to take my wife to. JFC sorry if I offended you. I'm sure the dude is a great fan and all and I'm happy he has an establishment here. I'm not chastising anyone for going so I suggest you not chastize to me for not going.
