WSU VERSUS LOYOLA PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS
"Ralph Miller was one of the finest coaches in the history of intercollegiate basketball. His teams were always fundamentally sound, team oriented, well conditioned, and ran both their offense and defense with great patience. I know of no coach whose teams competed against his, whether it be at Wichita State, Iowa, or Oregon State, who did not have great respect for him."—John Wooden
I checked the rest of the Valley schedules this weekend. InSU plays SIU. I'm predicting a Shocker win. The possibility of a Shocker loss exists, and that possibility seems to be larger than the possibiloity of InSU losing to SIU. If the Shox lose and InSU wins, then the Trees are alone in first place in the league.
With that in mind, I think the Shox motivation and determination will be a little higher for this game than it's been for some games this year.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
FVV will enjoy playing as close to his home territory as he's going to get, WSU has reawakened in terms of effort and rebounding, and the Shocks aren't outsized for a change -- Wessel fits right in as a PF against these guys. Plus, Shaq seems to have arrived; let's hope he plays on the road like he wants to be there instead of at home. Gotta defend, because Loyola shoots really well, especially threes. But this looks to be a favorable matchup, the Ramblers aren't as good as Utah, and really cold weather outside isn't as much of a challenge as high altitude is.
Dangerous game, but WSU's road warriors should win.
Air Shock has safely landed, and the Ramblermania board has a dedicated WSU trash talking thread. Looking forward to a good game!
I haven't seen the thread - and don't plan to look - but if it somehow evolves into an autofellatio-fest wherein the smack tangent is of profuse praise regarding how a Jesuit lib art degree is vastly and unquestionably superior to a public university that primarily pumps out business and engineering grads, then the full replacement of Creighton within the MVC context will have been successfully realized.
Capable of covering, Play Angry; also capable of losing outright, depending on which Shockers show up. FVV needs to impose his will for his NW Illinois and Chicago area fans.
