WSU VERSUS LOYOLA PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS
"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Just as there are "other factors" to take into consideration when determining the rating of a team, so there are other factors to take into account when making a prediction. For example, you will note that one of the predictions is a score of the game which has nothing riding on its accuracy while the other is a part of a contest in which there are prizes. The purpose of one is to predict the winner of one gamer and the purpose of the other is to maximize the chances of winning the contest. He may be going with the odds in the contest but expressing a doubt regarding those odds in making the single game prediction, which has nothing riding on its accuracy.
Fever has a history of slamming many posters (including me) relentlessly for any prediction ever made that didn't turn out well.
Fever has a history of complete hypocrisy by slamming me repeatedly for a prediction I made several years ago and then repeatedly lying about the fact that he made almost the exact same prediction at the same time.
You will have to excuse me for laughing when that very same Fever goes out and actually predicts both outcomes to a game in separate threads. It is the irony of it all that makes it so funny.
im4wsu, I think you are totally mis-applying the concept of hedging ones bets. It is a valid concept but just doesn't apply here. We could have a long detailed convo on your points and why I disagree with you, but I doubt that is what you or anyone else really wants. If you do want to have that convo, PM me. I'll spare the rest of the board any further discussion on this topic.
I thought it would go without saying. Would be too damn disappointing if not for the win.
Just though I'd beat J4HP to it. I knew what you meant.

The Ramblers have had a nice little run to open the season, but it's time for a dose of reality. I look for Ron and TC to slow down their top two wing scorers on the defensive end. This also sets up as a monster game for our bigs, Darius could go for 20, RK and Shaq will also be key underneath - they must OWN the glass. I say FVV has seen the light and continues to play like a creating, pass-first PG, Shocks win it 73-68 in a very entertaining and well played game.

I couldn't possibly have a long detailed convo on why you disagree with me, only you can do that. It wouldn't be hedging ones' bets (note the apostrophe) since nothing was bet on either the single game prediction nor the contest entry, even though there is a potential prize should one finish the contest at the end of the year in a position that a prize is awarded to. If you wish to produce your diatribe in a PM, feel free to enlighten me on my warped thinking, but please use arguments that actually apply to the situation.
