Sorry, I should have said "fourth" instead of "last."

That works. We did that at the actual Final Four in 1964-65 and it wasn't much fun although Bill Bradley did put on quite a show against the Shocks. Thank goodness they eliminated that consolation game.

Or, last in this round. :)

          • Marshall in 4th at 8%.

With a lot of people that vote being in STL this weekend, I don't look for Marshall to move up any.

            • Need to mobilize and make this a Wichita effort, not just a WSU thing. Send to your contacts with other school loyalties now that their coaches are out. Wichita Children's Home is something the entire community/region should get behind.

True and it is so easy. I call it Couch Potato Community Service. However, if the Wichita community was going to get behind it they would have done so by now. Your suggestions are good but those pleas have been made for sometime now and Coach Marshall mentions it on every Coach's Radio Show. Those pleas from help have not produced much action.

                I'm still voting 11 e-mails every day.

                • In order for Gregg to win it all some day there would need to be an organized civic plan in action that goes beyond just WSU. Our student body and alumni base just isn't big enough to get us over the top in the last round.

                  • Maybe @Veritas: would ask for help from phog.net?

Perhaps the lure of beating the Mayor would get a few people on board? Challenging the manhood of base sometimes can be effective.

                    • What does the Wichita Children's Home do to promote this to the community at large? They're the benefactors it seems logical that they should take a lead role in trying to get the community to rally around this.

I'm not doubting you, but that fanbase couldn't even get worked up enough about this contest to vote for Bill Self, who didn't get out of the opening round. What makes you think they'd help us out?

Based upon all of the hate from their fan base towards WSU that I see on social media, I would be highly surprised that they would do anything to help us. It would probably have the opposite effect, they would probably vote for Painter.

                          • Let me first say that WCH is a VERY worthy cause, so this next comment is not a negative of them in any way. That said, since Wichita/WSU has a smaller pool of people than a larger university, it might be good for Gregg to choose an organization with national appeal for the next contest. Hoiberg using the American Heart Association is a great choice because he will still get his Iowa State supporters to vote for him, but he might also votes from chapters supporting AHA around the country. Of course, donation monies are probably more important to WCH than national organizations. It is possible that $15,000 is a bigger deal for WCH than $100,000 is for AHA.

Just brainstorming some ideas to get 3G higher up next year.

I'm guessing they don't have the funds to make something like that happen. It would have to be an all voluntary effort.

It can't be done year, but next year someone needs to fund them so they can get this information out to the media.
