As for Jannsen being a terrible official, that may be, but Mike Kennedy is by far the worst announcer I have ever listened to, and I refuse to listen to Shocker games on the radio because of his homer attitude and his constant berating of officials. At least when Terry Elliot was the color guy on the baseball games, he was a voice of reason. I know others have the same disdain for MK as I do, and others love him to death. To each their own. I can't stand him.

You really need to listen to more radio guys. Kennedy may be a homer but at least you know what's going on when he's calling the game. I have listened to Valley broadcasts along with the occasional low-major game and you can go 10 minutes of gametime without knowing the score.

I completely agree with this. While Mike has a big homer streak in him, he's a throwback in his ability to do play by play. I can listen to him and visualize what is actually happening. And he keeps up with the play amazingly well, while knowing all of the players by name on both teams. Most of the other radio guys just describe it like a TV announcer would, assuming you can already see it.

I like basketball games to have a better flow and for officials to let the players play. So I guess it's no surprise that the few officials I like end up calling fewer fouls than average and the ones I really hate end up calling more fouls than average.

Also note that Jansen is behind some guys that have all called 45 and under games. Out of the really experienced refs, he's the worst.
