A plane carrying the Wichita State Men's Basketball team was forced to make an emergency landing Tuesday evening
According to airport dispatchers, the Embraer 145 took off from Wichita Mid-Continent Airport at 6:18 p.m. but along the way began experiencing issues with the plane's landing gear.
The plane was forced to turn around and land back at the airport. The plane landed safely and no one on board was hurt.
The plane was set to arrive in Des Moines, Iowa shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. That estimated arrival time has been delayed.
The Shockers are scheduled to take on Drake Bulldogs at the Knapp Center in Des Moines on Wednesday. Tipoff is set at 5 p.m.

Gear did not retract after takeoff, these situations occur from time to time and don't always make the news. Fortunately for some on this board, no government employees were involved. E145 aircraft was probably United charter.
