Presently, I would like to see Brown get a few more minutes. Right now, it seems like Baker can't hit the broad side of a barn from the 3 and he's been out of position on D big time a few times lately. What would it hurt to start playing Brown 10 to 15 minutes a game?

Maybe if Brown was playing a little more, we could move Baker to the point and rest both him and Fred a little more.

Of course, I think most of our starters will be getting a lot more rest now that the valley part of the schedule has started.

In my own legendary memory, I thought I had posted high praise for Zach Brown. All I could find are these comments that are more "hopeful" than high praise. Be that as it may, I believe Zach shows many of the same qualities as Cle, but he is still only 9 games into his career and we saw Cle begin as a Junior.

I think we need all the bigs we can get this year. That kind of leaves Brown as the odd man out, but I liked what I saw of him on Saturday. He is long and can shoot, although might be a streak shooter. He seemed to get after it and wasn't yelled at too often.

Actually, I thought Brown acquitted himself well at the "open" practice. He didn't shine or exp;ode, but he wasn't constantly drawing the wrath of coaches, either. Looked very athletic and could shoot a bit. A redshirt year might do both him and the team a good service, but I think he could play and contribute this season, if needed.

My only real criticism of Zach Brown was the wide open shot from the left wing, he should have shot the two, but looked down at the line, stepped back (probably traveled) and missed the three. Once again, I love his length. Looked like a senior on the line the last time (really all times, even the miss). He was a slasher at Sunrise and before. When he puts it ALL together,he is going to be one tough load.

How many 3's has Zach missed this year?

I'll take him taking a step back for now.

Three misses (7 of 10) but 9 of those shots were taken with good balance and without a travel (uncalled). I just prefer to have him take shots in rhythm, particularly when wide open. 3 points is better than 2; but 2 points in much better than zero.

Zach had a good/not great game yesterday. His season statistics are eerily similar to those of Mr. Tekele Cotton's freshman season. 10 minutes, 3 points, 1 rebound per game. He got more blocks and fewer turn overs, but also had fewer assists and steals. And by the way, he hit a ridiculous high 3pfg%.

He still plays as if he doesn't want to make a mistake. When he lets loose I think we are really gonna like what we see. Great athlete and shooter. The runner he shot yesterday was nice. And of course the oop. Stud!

Zach Brown could be the next super star on this team. His ceiling is very high!

Not worried about his offense. I would love to see him be a bigger version, size wise,
of TC defensively. Look how much love TC gets for his defense. Hope ZB can fill that
                  role for us !

Last season he shot 38% even. His performance in the last two games is certainly on par with his career shooting if not slightly better.

I know this thread is to celebrate ZBrown but I am just really surprised by this comment.
I believe Shaka made that comment last December.

I tell you what shot Baker cannot hit and it isn't the three ball. The shot Baker cannot hit is the little runner in the paint, when he is shooting off the wrong foot.

However, I must disclose that my memory about the paint runner probably is not perfect.

I resurrected a long dead thread from December...hence the shot at Baker's shot.

Center Zach Brown, who has been arrested multiple times in the past eight months, was released from his letter of intent to St. John's.

                              Zach Brown arrested. Kinda.
