Perry and Conner were prize recruits out of Wichita that KU got but neither flourished like expected there. Going to be tough for KU to get any recruits like that from Wichita again in the future because WSU can point out Perry has struggled at times, Conner left after a year to go to WSU, and Evan has become a fan favorite and important part of the team. Plus with the success of Ron, WSU should have a pretty good argument over KU for any prized recruits now and in the future.

I love this. I still wish Perry all the best because he is a good guy. However, you are right that this was a perfect storm for WSU recruiting in Wichita. The only way it can get any worse for KU in that regard is for Frankamp to have a really nice career here and for Perry to hang around and be a part of a struggling KU team while his NBA stock declines. It's starting to look like those things may happen. I wouldn't wish that on him in particular.

Perry has struggled at times, but he has also played very, very well at times. Seems like a fine young man. I wish him well unless we see the Jayhawks in the NCAA Tournament then a Temple-like performance would be just fine and dandy with me.

Perry will likely have a very, very good Big 12 conference season. There's a good chance he's 1st or 2nd team all Big-12.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Wish him well because he seems like a good young man but I don't see how he fits in the NBA. Just too much of a tweener that would get abused in the paint. That said I would have loved to have seen him play under Marshall. Anyone know if he's anywhere near completing his 4-year degree (ahead of schedule)?

Ouch. Didn't realize Ellis was struggling THAT badly.

The curse effect isn't over.. I think Self leaves KU after this year. Wsu has established itself as a formidable opponent that ku will have to share the state with for awhile. Self won't know how to cope with all that, wsu will out do them next season again and Self will bolt for the nba.

I know there's a little sarcasm here, but out of curiosity, has Self ever expressed interest in the NBA?

He's more or less said the option is on the table.
