I agree this is the most accurate/obvious comparison. Not sure what I am missing?

    • My point was that he might chose to leave early and go make money, whether he has a first round grade or not. could happen.

        • Interesting. Definitely in the neighborhood of both. I'd love to see the non-scoring stats too. I think some stronger distinctions would show up there.

          • Both wessel and baker will be 5th yr seniors next year. I am curious if either are on pace to graduate this spring and what kind of course load they would be required to take as 5 yr grad students. If both guys could just take a couple grad classes, they could have a lot of extra time to concentrate on bball.

            • I think most of Baker's improvement had come on the defensive end. His lateral quickness is better and his shot blocking has improved. Not necessarily because he is more athletic, but because he can anticipate and time the shot better.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

                • They both are on track to graduate.
Copied from NCAA Website : In Division I, student-athletes must complete 40 percent of the coursework required for a degree by the end of their second year. They must complete 60 percent by the end of their third year and 80 percent by the end of their fourth year. Student-athletes are allowed five years to graduate while receiving athletically related financial aid. All Division I student-athletes must earn at least six credit hours each term to be eligible for the following term and must meet minimum grade-point average requirements that are related to an institution’s own GPA standards for graduation.
doesnt really say post graduate hours but I'm guessing the six hours would be required

                  • He's definitely a better defender than Korver, and about on par with Hinrich. Offensively, Hinrich was a better ball-handler/creator and Korver was a better shooter. I think his absolute ceiling is probably somewhere in the Hinrich range, but it's tough to say. Although, I will say Hinrich was able to play with Nick Collison and Drew Gooden, so that freed him up for opportunities offensively. It's so tough to project these things.

Not a current problem for anyone on the team. Their prac schedules, off season mandatory and non-mandatory workouts, off season pick up games, extra work they put in before and after prac is very impressive.

Half of Kentucky's team will constitute the first round anyway. Guess we'll just have to see how it plays out.

Bake and I have an understanding. He wants to be a part of the most storied period in Shocker basketball history. He doesn't want to miss a second.

                              • I think a player should be allowed to declare for the draft and still be eligible to return to school.

That way, if a player doesn't get drafted (or like where he gets drafted), he can return to school with no penalty.
