I'm not so much worried about his offense as his defense. 3 different times last night he got beat badly enough for me to cringe. That doesn't count the times he just got beat.

Unless Baker picks up his play quick, I can't for the life of me see him being drafted, not even in the second round. He's struggling right now, big time. Fortunately, there's still a lot of season left for him to turn it around. It'd be great to have him back next season if he produces, but if he declares for the draft, then good for him. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a mistake.

Agreed. If the draft were to take place today, I think he would be lucky to make it mid 2nd round. The good thing about him though is that he is tough and a winner. I trust that he will do whatever it takes to improve.

NBA decision makers don't freak out over 1 or 2 games. If they thought Baker was good enough to get drafted before, this tournament wouldn't change their minds.

Yes and no. While I mostly agree with you, I know there have been cases where 1 or 2 bad games did cost a college player a chance to play in the NBA. It could happen. Luckily there is still a lot of season left, and I'm sure not only Baker, but FVV and everybody else will get it turned around and figured out.

The NBA scouts like Baker because he has a high BBIQ. And unlike WSU, which doesn't have a great inside game, allowing our opponents to put more pressure on our guards, the NBA will allow Baker to do what he does best, to make good decisions.

Wow. I believe Ron (think wolf) does not worry about sheep (SN posters). If that's not the case, the NBA itself, and its fans, will be a real eye-opener.

                    Not what was thinking.

I think it might make him bolt quicker, if he thinks his own fanbase doesn't think he is good enough.

More of a "Screw this, I'm going to go get paid." thing.

Kind of the same thing we had going on the CF topic, about Connor not reading Shockernet because all the negativity towards him and his father would make him go against WSU and go somewhere else. Same thing really, the points are valid, but ShockTalk is right in the long run. If one of our players is so worried about what the fans think of him at the college level, then maybe his head isn't in the right place anyways.

Regardless, Ron (and FVV) seem to be going through major slumps. I hope they get it turned around, because they are going to be much needed come March.

Would you call yourself a fairly emotional guy?

This comes off a little fanboyish.

Nah, I think both RB and FVV are the type of players that want to prove the doubters wrong.
I just want to stand on land...

                            Fair enough.

Emotions are all over the place on SN the past 24 hours.

Ron is still on the NBA radar at #27 this week. #27 isn't a sure thing as a first round draft choice but the chance is still there. Conner is definitely an safety valve to this happening. Of course, we won't know until after the year is over.

I realize Ron will move on someday but it will be a depressing one. I find myself
actually hoping he will miss some shots when we can afford it just so his stock will go
down and he will decide to stay. When his shot is off the guy works his a** off even
harder to make a positive difference. He exemplifies "play angry" and simply refuses
to play poorly even when his shot isn't there. He is a "bad" boy and I mean that in a
vey good way. I hope he knows how many of us are selfishly hoping he stays for his
                                senior year.
