Those were out on Tuesday, day of the Koch donation big ado.
I like the student services center. Will be a very nice addition. The champions club update will also be nice, but my peasant self never see it.
The suites on the other hand make me feel like we are about to take our cherished, gracefully aging old dog to the vet in order that he be converted into a three-legged cyborg dog with a laser eye. I will soon be flamed for this take since I don't have a stream of sunshine diarrhea flowing from my rectum, with regards to this part of the project.

I think it's a great thing. It doesn't get rid of the Roundhouse but still updates it for what is wanted in modern arenas. Plus I like lasers.

I like the general idea. So long as they make good on the "promise" that it would not lower seating capacity, and could in fact raise seating capacity, I am all for it. Facilities are a huge part of recruiting and being considered a "big boy" in college sports. A big part of the national talking points about Wichita State in the recent past has been their facilities, and not just with basketball, but you hear that a lot in baseball. You have to continue to improve and the recruits are drawn to those things. The redesign of the locker rooms I think is a great example.

I'm guessing SN must be filled with guys driving Pontiac Aztecs, Nissan Cubes or Jukes and Lincoln Navigators, who live in homes that have add-on second floors and garages converted to living space, and who find no issue wearing mismatching socks, because I can't for the life of me reconcile how I'm the only one raising the red flag on the aesthetics of these unbalanced suites (as they have been depicted). What we have now in CKA is special as far as school-owned, on-campus barns go. Do we really want to go from that to the alien bastard stepchild in that same segment?

Your reality is much different than the rest of us, because I don't know what you're talking about. It's like you're having this one sided tantrum like posting when no one is on the other side arguing.

As far as I can tell I'm the only one on SN who has been critical at all in reference to these suites, while at the same time I have been called out for having a negative take on these things (do you not read the forum you own?). Both surprise me greatly. Guarantee if you searched out and found a forum dedicated to the design and architecture of large public entertainment venues they would crucify these suites, as they sit in current conceptual form. They are an embarrassment, and as I am rather invested in WSU on any number of levels I'd rather not but humiliated by something associated with my alma mater.
You think KU and CU fans are a PITA now? Beating CKA with an ugly stick will only replenish their ammo box.

And what the hell is with you following me around various threads trying to provoke me? Are you a child? Does your wife emasculate you, and SN is your outlet? What's the deal? I'd appreciate it if you could find someone else to follow around and nip at their heels.Last edited by SHOCKvalue; December 19, 2014, 01:31 PM.

Perhaps those suites are just being considered a "first phase" for adding in suites. Sure they are slightly tilted towards the SE and a bit off center...but that's because of the new building to be built on that side of the arena. Another donation 5-10 years down the road and all the suites filled up for games in that course of time...who knows....but probably another round of building even more suites down the road.FINAL FOURS:
