So, that article brings up something very interesting. We are butted right up against KU in a number of rankings and metrics. It sure would be fun to lace em up this year with a trip to the F4 on the line.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

I'm not surprised that the Utah center found KU to be more physical. Darius was in foul trouble (he's not exactly physical) and the frosh haven't got it figured out yet. I assume he will be making a trip to Wichita next year as he's not NBA ready. We'll see how physical Morris, Kelly and Nurger are in their second year.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

A free throw. Fred's missed front end with 7 seconds left. Evan made the only 2 other Shocker FTs over the last 4 minutes. The Shocks were 9-12 (.750) before that single miss.
So really two FTs. One to tie, two to win. Still, your point is just as valid.. :-)

KU actually waited until Antoine and Cliff were gone, and Greg transferred. we lost to them in Lawrence without Gus Santos, and Fogler beat Danny and the miracles at Henry Levitt in 88. I think Self will wait until Fred, Ron and Tekele are gone and offer us a game in KC.

I think that our overall level of talent will better at that time than it is now. And that is in no way a disparaging comment towards Fred, Ron, and Tekele. It's just an observation of the trajectory of the program.

That would be great! Ron and Fred are All-Americans and Cotton is DPOY.

The bookends were gone and probation effects in place. Great time to schedule 3 for 1s.

Beat KU in January 1987, the year before The Miracles.

larrry brown was something different.. an nba guy. he has balls. the pattern still stands: if marshall is at wsu, ku is a definite no-go! when/if he leaves, it's on !

Just to be clear, I said the OVERALL level of talent. I did not make individual comparisons.

Larry Brown basically said the reasons KU in the past didnt play WSU were bs

Possibly true. As a stat nerd (it's the baseball in me), I think it would be interesting to keep/know the number of "missed" throws not taken due to missing the first of a 1 and 1. Potentially, miss the first, you lose; make the first, miss the second, you tie; make both, you win. How many potential points are lost due to first misses in a game?

ft are big momentum killers just like against Louisville, Orupke missed some free ones and Louisville hit a few three's from an obscure player and walla change in momentum. this is something we will have to shore up..and I think we will
