Channeling FSF here with a little Shocker numerology...
We all know 35 as the mighty AC's number. It's also the interstate highway that runs through Wichita (which, coincidentally, would be the road AC Jr. would drive to get here if he comes by car).
But is it also the stumbling block for Marshall and his alter ego FVV? Last year, 35-0, then a loss when Fred was off the mark with his final three against Kentucky. This year, up to 35 straight regular season wins and then a loss when Fred capped a tough night by missing a key one-and-one and Wessel came up short with the follow.
What about March Madness 2015? Will the Shocks re-establish AC's good Shocker karma by blowing away the barrier and winning at least 36 games this season? Will they manage to lose enough along the way so that 35 wins bring a happy conclusion for all of us? Or can they keep us in suspense by simply winning the rest of their games and postponing any collision with the 35 barrier until early next season? (Personally, I'd accept that sort of suspense with no hesitation.)
In any case, stay tuned! It's all coming soon to a TV screen near you.
(dramatic, anticipatory Hitchcock movie music)
