While we're at it, though, here's another (almost) 35: the current combined average minutes per game of Morris, Nurger, and Wamukota. Right now they're at 34.4, although that's padded just a bit because of the Newman game in which they played 41 (it's 32.8 sans Newman).
But it'll rise as they get more experienced and comfortable -- and once it gets to a consistent 40, they can hopefully become this year's triplet center position and Carter can return to playing just PF, which will give the Shocks a bit more height as the season goes along. Not that Wessel is doing a bad job, certainly; in fact, he's currently WSU's leading rebounder. But he'll be tough at SF too; and as Kelly continues to develop (currently at 14 minutes a game) and joins Carter at PF, WSU will NOT have a size problem by the time conference play is in full swing, or certainly by NCAA time. Plus, none of this even counts Tevin Glass, who might also object to being written off so soon.
Bottom line (are you ready?): "I'm not worried."
